Welcome to this healing space meditation.

When I am feeling overwhelmed I always think of the saying my beautiful teacher David G always says,

Bean by bean the bag gets full,

Bean by bean the bag gets full.

I use this like a mantra and it reminds me that if I just do one task at a time it will all get done.

Or if I just take one day at a time I can cope with a busy week.

Or if I just take my day hour by hour when I'm finding things challenging then I can get through without the stress of feeling overwhelmed.

But sometimes we all need to take a step back completely.

If you like the bean metaphor we need to push all those beans to one side or just step into a different room without the beans and create a space and a pause where we can gain clarity and get some much-needed mental rest.

We need to create a space in which we can rest and heal physically,

Mentally,

Emotionally,

Energetically and spiritually.

If we stop and take a moment in stillness in a healing space we can then move into the world with more calm,

Clarity,

Peace.

Use this meditation when you need to take a pause,

A time in with yourself,

A rest or a nap.

Some time for deep healing or when you are feeling overwhelmed,

Anxious,

Stressed or fatigued.

It is my hope that this meditation will provide nourishment for your soul.

At the end of this meditation I will sound my beautiful singing bowl and use my voice to guide you out of the practice allowing you to return to your day.

However I am also working on a healing space for sleep version of this meditation that can be used to guide you into sleep and that is open-ended and accompanied by healing sounds and music to take you through the night.

So look out for that right here on inside timer.

So when you are ready make yourself really comfortable and I suggest lying down for this meditation.

Make sure you are warm,

Cozy and comfortable.

Close the eyes and take a moment just to feel the support beneath you.

Feeling that support allow yourself just to sink into the surface you are lying on whether that's the bed or a couch or the floor.

Just allow yourself to feel the support and sink into it.

Let's take a nice deep breath here so when you are ready breathing in and as you breathe out let go of your day of your week and of everything outside of this meditation and again breathing in and as you breathe out let go and sink into your support a little more and now bring your awareness into your head and allow the head to become soft and heavy.

Feel the softening at the crown of the head like a warm comforting feeling and allow that softening to spread down into the face through the face and then just soften behind your eyes.

That space behind your eyes just softening in there.

Take a moment to moisten the mouth with the tongue.

Allow the tongue to gently stroke the roof of the mouth.

Stimulating the reflex points here and then soften the jaw and just allow the tongue to rest just behind the top front teeth if that's comfortable for you and then really give the weight of the head over to the support beneath you.

So let the head be heavy and as you allow the head to be heavy all the muscles in the neck and shoulders begin to relax.

They are not needed in this moment to hold the head up so they can release and as they release and soften you can feel that softness moving into the shoulder girdle,

Collarbones,

The shoulder blades,

The tops of the shoulders and then that softness trickles down from the shoulders to the elbows,

From the elbows to the wrists and from the wrists into the hands and fingers.

That softness in the shoulders and neck trickles down the length of the spine giving softness to all the attachments to the spine,

Bones,

Ligaments,

Muscles,

Nerves,

Tendons.

From the base of the spine that softness moves into the pelvis and around the pelvis.

That softness moving into the hips and from the hips that softness trickles down into the knees and from the knees into the ankles and from the ankles into the feet and toes.

Bring the awareness from here into the center of your body,

Into the stomach area and the area of your diaphragm and really feel the softness coming into this space.

All the nerves that cross over this space softening to the breath gently deepening into this space and just allow that breath to be natural,

Spontaneous.

We are not forcing the breath or controlling the breath in any way.

We are just witnessing the movement of the breath in that area of the diaphragm as you soften and then sink that awareness down even further into the lower abdomen.

Soften deeply into this space and as you soften here just witness that breath coming down even deeper in your body right down into that lower abdomen area.

Again the breath is natural,

Spontaneous.

We are not forcing that breath down.

It's happening through the softness and as we soften here and breathe here it sends a message to the nervous system to relax.

So feel the whole body softening and relaxing.

Feeling that breath in the lower abdomen filling and emptying that space and then just imagine that your whole body has become a hollow space.

A hollow space in which the breath can move through freely.

Move the awareness back up to the head.

Imagining the head as a hollow space,

An empty space where the breath can move freely.

Allow that breath to cleanse,

To heal,

To clear the space of your head.

Move that awareness down to the hollow space of your neck and throat.

Cleansing with the breath,

Moving down into the hollow cavity of the chest.

Again that breath cleansing,

Healing,

Nourishing that space.

Allow the awareness and the breath to travel down the hollow space of the right arm down from the shoulder to the elbow through the elbow and lower arm through the right wrist into the hand through the right thumb,

The index finger,

The middle finger,

The ring finger and the little finger.

That breath moving freely through the space of the right arm and hand.

Cleansing,

Healing,

Nourishing.

Allow the awareness to come back up through that right arm back into the cavity of the chest and journey then down through the left arm from the shoulder to the elbow through the elbow and lower arm through the left wrist into the hand and into the left thumb,

Index finger,

Middle finger,

Ring finger and little finger.

Allow that breath to freely cleanse,

Heal and nourish the space of the left arm and hand and then allow that awareness to travel back up that left arm back into the chest cavity and then moving down the hollow space of the torso.

Allowing that breath to cleanse,

Heal and nourish all the way down through the torso and into the pelvis.

Deeply cleanse,

Heal and nourish the pelvis with the breath and then allow that breath to travel down the hollow space of the right leg from the hip through the knee,

Lower leg,

Ankle,

Into the foot and into the right big toe,

Second toe,

Third toe,

Fourth toe,

Fifth toe.

Cleansing,

Healing,

Nourishing breath and then bring the awareness back up the right leg into the pelvis and then journey through the left leg,

That hollow space of the left leg from the hip through the knee,

The lower leg,

Into the foot,

Into the left big toe,

Second toe,

Third toe,

Fourth toe,

Fifth toe.

Allowing that breath to cleanse,

Heal and nourish the space of the left leg and then bring that awareness back up that left leg,

Back into the pelvis,

Back into the center of your body and then just take a moment to direct that breath,

That cleansing,

That healing to anywhere in your body that needs some extra attention.

Maybe an area you hold more tension or you have any aches or pains,

Any area of disease,

Allow that breath to move through the space.

Cleansing,

Healing,

Nourishing and now just imagine that your body is floating in a space,

In a warm,

Friendly darkness,

Like you are being held in comfort,

Support and safety,

Held in a deep knowing and understanding.

Held in unconditional love,

Held in a quiet nurturing space,

A womb space and then feel all those boundary points between your body and that warm and friendly darkness,

Softening,

Merging,

Dissolving.

For a moment just float in that expansive space,

Feeling a deep connection and support,

A space of everything and nothing,

A warm,

Safe space,

A deep healing space.

Take a few more moments here just to experience the healing and nourishing of this space,

The gentle ebb and flow of your breath and the energy surrounding you,

Your whole being being massaged and healed by the gentle caress of this space.

And now very gently bring your awareness back to your body,

To the surface you are lying on,

Lying on,

That your body is sinking into.

Take a moment to feel your body here,

Take some time just to deepen the breath,

Allow the body to reawaken with the breath,

Take some time to gently move and stretch and you may like to roll onto one side and just rest here until you are ready to sit and return to your world.

This meditation is a deep healing practice so make sure you take it gently for a while after,

Drink lots of water and eat some nourishing food,

Nourish yourself emotionally and mentally too.

You can return to this meditation as often as you like and in times of great stress or acute or chronic illness or disease you may like to practice every day.

Sending much love and healing to you,

Namaste.

Very healing and calming. Suggestion to keep the background music in a volume lower than your voice so that it doesn’t distract from your soothing words.

I loved this so much 😭 Your voice, the music, everything was perfect! Thank you for going slow with the body parts, you actually gave time to relax them! So often teachers move sooo fast from body part to body part, so theres not much time to actually relax. Thank you for this!!
