This is a 15-minute meditation that we'll be doing today to invoke love.
And really there isn't much difference in my mind and my heart between invoking the divine and invoking love.
So get yourself comfortable.
You could be lying down.
You could be sitting,
Whatever is the most comfortable for you.
This is not a practice that requires sitting in,
You know,
In a lotus pose or anything like that.
In fact,
Sometimes we have this misnomer that everyone needs to look like the Buddha while meditating.
And certainly that is maybe a posture that is invited because what happens with the tall spine then is that the idea is when we are sitting with a tall spine,
It helps us to connect to the above,
To the sides and to the below.
But that doesn't mean that you can't be on your back to do this.
So just whatever is comfortable for you.
You could even be in a chair if you like.
Just sensing your breath this morning.
You can have your eyes closed or you can have them open.
And just sensing your breath.
Where does it arrive?
Where does it land?
And where does it leave your body this morning or this afternoon?
There's no right or wrong in this breath and the breath is life.
So how is your life feeling on this day?
And noticing the width of your body,
The length of your body,
Noticing the space in front of your body to the sides of your body below you.
And notice your body moving into those spaces,
To the front,
To the sides,
Above and below.
And if your sinuses are clear,
The breath coming in through your nose and out the nose.
Now welcome in an image or feeling of someone or a place or maybe an object that you're that you feel love for.
A place,
Person,
Thing that you feel love for.
And if you have never experienced love,
What do you imagine love to feel like?
And as you bring this image of this person,
Place or thing that you feel love for,
And it could be the divine,
Could be a Christ-like figure,
Could be the Buddha,
Could be any person,
Place or thing.
And as you see this image in your mind,
Bring your attention now into your body.
And where are you feeling this love for this person,
Place or thing?
What else do you notice?
Is your heart beating more rapidly?
Has it slowed down?
And what about your breath?
What are you sensing now with your breath?
And now I invite you to stay present with this feeling in your body and let go of the image of a person,
Place or thing.
Stay present in the sensations in your body,
The sensations in your breath,
The sensation of this feeling of love in your body.
Is it warm?
Is it tingling?
How would you identify it?
Is there a light?
Is there a color?
Is it expanding?
Or is it a feeling of contraction?
What else might you notice about this feeling of love?
And is the sensation radiating?
Is it expanding more now?
Maybe out through the arms,
The legs,
The torso?
Has the feeling changed form?
Has the feeling moved outside of your form to the front,
To the sides,
To the back of your body,
Of your surroundings?
Stay present with your breath and any sensations in your body without judgment,
Without trying to fix or change anything about this moment,
About these sensations.
There's no right,
There's no wrong.
This is pure awareness.
Feeling your body breathe,
Feeling this sensation,
The movement of it or the stillness of it or the pulsing of it,
The formless,
The expansiveness.
The smoothness.
A few more moments in quiet as you feel this sensation.
Equity,
It's love to you.
Yes or no?
Now placing your left hand on your heart and feeling the touch of your hand Place your right hand now on your heart,
Feeling the touch of that hand,
Feeling the warmth of your hands,
Feeling the connection to the heart space Feeling that pulsing,
Irradiating the warmth And let the hands rest now on the lap or to your sides with the palms facing up and the hands facing up and the heart facing up And may you shine on and move on the path of love in this day that we've been given and this day that we have.
