Key 4,
The Lightbringer I really don't know who or what I am,
Said the window.
I sense I am part of something bigger.
Perhaps there are others like me,
But I can't see them.
I seem to be sitting between two different worlds.
On one side of me I have fields,
Trees and a big sky,
And each day it all disappears and goes dark.
On the other side is a strange space,
Full of objects that I don't understand.
When it goes dark on one side,
It goes light on the other side for a while,
Before everything goes dark again.
Inside the strange space,
A creature wanders around.
Sometimes it comes up to look at me,
But I get the impression that it sees right through me.
I like both of my sides for different reasons.
One side feels open and free,
The other feels like it's a place where I belong and I'm appreciated.
Some days I get buffered,
Battered and wet,
But only on one side.
That reminds me of some old memories that go back to before I was born.
I can recall being underwater,
Then on land,
Open to the elements.
I also have a nightmare now and then about being born in a fire.
On the other side,
If I am really quiet and really listen,
I can pick up noises from the strange creature.
They make my surface vibrate ever so slightly.
I have no idea what it's all about.
The window had no idea of course that the strange creature was a famous artist,
And that it provided her with a window to another world.
It would have been really proud of itself if it heard what she said about it one sunny morning.
I just love the light this window brings in.
