Find a comfortable seat.
Sit up tall,
Elongating your spine so your body is upright but not stiff.
Take a moment and scan the body,
Relaxing any areas of tension,
Starting at the crown of your head and working your way all the way down the body to your toes.
Then start to bring awareness to your breath without an agenda to change it.
Just notice its natural patterns and the sensation of the breath in the body.
Particularly note the way the breath enters and leaves.
Now begin to deepen the breath a little more,
Breathing in for three counts and out for three counts.
Noticing each inhalation and each exhalation.
Continue counting at your own pace in your own time as you observe the breath.
Know that you are giving yourself a gift with this practice,
That you are safe,
You are loved,
You are seen,
You are enough.
The breath is your life force and by checking in with it you are reinforcing your own vitality,
Your presence,
Your beingness.
