Here's how to fall asleep and sleep super deeply without trying.
Step 1.
Get your space conducive to a deep sleep.
This might mean adjusting the temperature of the room or getting it super dark or whatever else will make you really cozy and effortlessly restful.
Pause the track if you need a few moments to do that and hit play when you're ready.
Step 2.
Get into bed and into a really restful,
Effortless position.
Do your best to make the little adjustments and arrange your body into the position that makes it feel like you're not even trying to lay there,
Like you're just floating almost.
Step 3.
Breathe into your belly now,
But really slowly,
Like three times slower than you normally do.
And as you inhale,
Breathe slowly all the way into your lower belly.
And exhale twice as slowly as you inhaled,
Almost like you're blowing out through a straw.
And do that a couple more times to slow your nervous system down,
Breathing in deep and slow all the way down to your knees.
And exhaling super slowly out through the straw.
Last one,
Deepest one.
Bring that delicious oxygen all the way down to your toes.
And let it flow out super slow through the straw.
Step 4.
Give yourself conscious permission to let go of the day,
To let go of time,
To let go of thinking mode,
And to shift into a mode where you're listening and feeling and only existing in the now,
In the present moment,
Right now,
Letting the sense of the past and future melt away into a raw,
Alive awareness of just right now.
Step 5.
Move your attention in a rhythm from your tongue down to your jaw.
Don't think about how to move the spotlight,
Just move it smoothly and imagine each area relaxing as the warm spotlight of awareness bounces there,
Effortlessly loosening,
Softening and relaxing each area.
Imagine it bouncing down to the front of the neck,
The collarbone stretching out to the shoulders,
Upper arms,
Lower arms,
Hands,
Fingers,
Down to the toes,
And the balls of the feet,
The arches of your feet,
Your heels,
Your ankles,
Your lower legs,
Your knees,
Your upper legs,
Your hips,
Your glutes,
Your pelvic floor,
Your lower belly,
Gently pendulating to your lower back,
To your upper belly,
And your middle back,
To your chest,
And your upper back,
And the back of your neck,
And the back of your head,
And the top of your head,
And your forehead,
Your temples,
Your eyes,
And softening all the little muscles around your eyes,
And your ears,
And step 6 is just immersing yourself in what you hear,
Feeling the soothing sounds gently cascading into the ears,
Almost as if you can see the energy flowing in through the ears,
The sound waves soothing and easing the nervous system head to toe,
Calming and harmonizing the vibrations of your inner body.
Step 7 is to feel the space around you,
Don't think,
Just feel and sense the energy of all the space that surrounds your body,
Feel the blissful infinity of that space,
How it stretches on endlessly,
Supporting you in its vastness,
And if it feels safe and relaxing,
Imagine your body melting into that space,
Seamlessly becoming one with the space as you float in an effortlessly heavy and light way at the same time,
Grounded and weightless in the perfect blend of effortless floating.
Feel yourself connecting with the vastness,
The oneness of the universe as the vibrations of your body merge with the vibrations of space,
More and more with each connecting breath as it flows to you.
And now in this vast and effortless space you've created and connected to,
Imagine as though it's safe and effortless to simply let go of whatever arises,
So if a tension arises,
You simply notice it and let it melt and dissolve into the space again,
And if a thought arises,
You simply notice it and release it,
Letting it go back into the ocean of space,
Finding and feeling this rhythm of noticing and letting go deeper and deeper into the space now.
And as you hold this awareness of floating in a vast and quietly vibrating space,
I invite you to keep letting go over and over and going deeper into that space of relaxation than your mind even thinks is possible,
Simply welcoming that state of deep and effortless rest and deepening it more with each effortless breath.
