Hello and welcome to your morning meditation practice where together we're going to cultivate a greater experience of balance and equilibrium so that you can move through your day feeling less thrown about.
Feeling less reactive and more like your grounded authentic self.
My name is Fleur Chambers and from my home in Melbourne,
Australia to your home,
Thanks for being with me.
So just in your own time,
Getting comfy.
Closing down your eyes or allowing your gaze to be gentle.
And allowing your awareness to land on your breath.
No need to change or manipulate your breath in any way.
It's simply enough just to be here noticing.
And maybe through this simple act of noticing the breath.
It changes a little without any force.
Without any effort.
With each breath,
Arriving here a little more.
And now we're going to scan our physical body with this intention of cultivating a greater sense of balance.
So beginning with your eyes.
Can you encourage this sense of equilibrium between left and right eye?
Softening the eyes,
The eyebrows,
The forehead,
The tiny muscles within and around the eyes.
A sense of balance moving towards the left and right cheeks.
As your face rests in stillness.
Right and left hand side jaw.
Softening,
Finding balance.
Left and right shoulder blades.
Moving down your back just a little.
This sense of balance here.
Hips and pelvis,
Left and right hand side,
Balance.
A sense of balance between left and right knee.
Left and right ankle.
Left and right,
Heel to heel.
Balls of feet.
A sense of balance between left and right elbows.
Wrists.
Inviting this sense of balance to be mirrored in your breath.
As you allow the inhale and the exhale to be the same.
Maybe for you this naturally feels like a count of three.
Four.
Five.
So maybe you're inhaling for the count of three.
And exhaling for the count of three.
A sense of balance.
With each breath.
As you receive the perfect amount of oxygen.
As you send out the perfect amount of carbon dioxide.
And expanding this awareness of the breath to include an energetic component.
So if the inhale represented beginnings,
A sense of welcoming or inviting in.
And if the exhale represented a letting go.
Release.
Can you find some balance here too?
If you were to truly walk through today with a greater sense of balance and equilibrium.
What is one thing you would invite in?
One quality,
One circumstance,
One action.
That would create some momentum for greater balance.
And breathing this in deep into your heart.
And perhaps there's something you need to let go in order to walk this path of balance today.
And so whatever emerges,
Letting it go with the tide of your exhale.
And perhaps here as we rest in this awareness.
We get a little closer to our hearts.
Our hearts that have the capacity to hold our entire experience.
Even the parts that our mind tries so desperately to avoid.
And so here in the safety of your meditation practice.
Perhaps you can locate two things within your heart that normally might feel like a contradiction.
But here in this space of balance and equilibrium,
You can actually allow both of them to be true.
Maybe you feel resentful and grateful.
Maybe you feel both worried and hopeful.
Allowing two aspects of your inner world,
Two qualities within your heart to emerge.
Widening your awareness,
Allowing the container to be large enough.
To hold the contradictions.
To hold the fullness of your experience.
And now moving to the final element of our exploration.
Which relates to the energies of giving and receiving.
And so when I mention these words,
Giving and receiving,
Perhaps there's an automatic reaction.
And knowing that naturally.
You move towards one of these and away from the other.
But what would it feel like if today you committed to a greater sense of balance between the energies of giving and receiving?
What if you genuinely believed that you could not have one without the other?
And so let's turn the left palm so it's face upwards.
And we'll have the right palm face down on our knee or in our lap.
And we're going to breathe in through our left palm,
Imagining that the breath moves from the palm up the arm and lands in the heart.
And we're going to breathe out from the heart,
Down the right arm.
Into the right hand and then out into the world.
So we inhale through left palm,
Breath travels up left arm into heart.
We exhale down the right arm,
Right palm into the world.
So I'll just let you breathe in this way a few rounds on your own now.
Sensing this energy flow.
Arriving into the heart.
Moving back out into the world.
And this energetic breath practice is sending a message to your nervous system.
That it's safe to give and receive in equal measure.
Safe to receive what's good in the world.
Safe to receive compliments.
Support.
Care,
The wisdom of nature.
That it's safe to send out its gifts,
Its contributions,
Its thoughts into the world.
Breath,
Sending a message to the nervous system.
That today it's safe to receive and to give.
And from this more honest,
True and regulated place.
Can you ask yourself?
Where would I like to receive today?
In what ways?
From who?
From what?
And often this isn't about.
.
.
People being more kind to you or more generous,
It's actually about your awareness.
Your commitment to noticing what is already good,
What is already there for you.
Breathing this in through the left palm,
Allowing it to land deep in your heart.
And now getting curious and clear.
From this regulated place.
From this place of balance and trust.
In what ways would you like to give today?
With the tide of the exhale.
Imagining this energy of giving flowing down your right arm,
Right palm and flowing into the world.
Allowing your palms to meet.
The centre of your chest.
Feeling the fingertips touching.
The sense of spaciousness between the palms of your hands.
This balance between physicality and spaciousness.
And trusting in what you have cultivated this morning.
Trusting that this will ripple out into your day.
That it will benefit those you love,
Colleagues,
Yourself,
And the world.
Offering yourself a smile for carving out this time for yourself this morning.
Opening your eyes.
Thanks so much for sharing your practice with me.
