A warm welcome back to this 10 day gratitude challenge,
Where together we're saying yes to meditation and the positive ripple effect it has on our lives.
Today's practice is all about sending gratitude to our hearts.
So beginning by closing down your eyes and taking a slow,
Deep breath in,
And a long smooth exhale.
And just reminding yourself that you deserve this 10 minutes,
That the world will keep on spinning,
That this gift of meditation will allow you to move through your day in more grounded and skillful ways.
Enjoying three deep and intentional breaths as a way of arriving here more fully.
And now directing your gentle attention to your physical heart.
This incredible organ that sits slightly behind and to the left of your sternum.
Maybe you can hear it or sense it beating within your chest.
This incredible piece of machinery that will beat 42 million times this year.
This heart that will beat about 600 times during this short meditation practice.
Your heart that supplies oxygen and nutrients,
That removes carbon dioxide every moment of every day.
Inviting you to take a few deep and grateful breaths into your physical heart.
Feeling a sense of appreciation,
Awe and wonder for just how intelligent your heart is.
For its nervous system that contains around 40,
000 neurons and sends vital messages and intelligence to your brain.
And now shifting your attention to your energetic heart.
This is located in the middle of your chest.
Midway between the front and back,
The left and right hand sides of your body.
Perhaps you are familiar with the concept of an energetic heart.
Maybe this is new to you.
Whatever your experience,
Can you be here now with a willingness to breathe deep into the centre of your chest and connect with your energetic heart?
With each grateful breath,
Waking your heart a little more.
This heart that loves,
That allows you to connect with family and friends.
This heart that experiences joy and gratitude.
This heart that can break and heal.
Your energetic heart is the gateway to awe,
Wonder,
Compassion and reverence.
How does this feel for you?
Breathing deep into this heart that allows you to trust,
To feel your intuition and to believe in something more than what the mind can understand or the eyes can see.
What would your life look and feel like if you allowed your heart to lead the way?
Breathing in a deep sense of gratitude for your heart.
Rubbing your hands together,
Feeling your own warmth,
Vitality and energy.
And gently placing them over your chest or your heart.
How does it feel to come home to this part of you?
Being aware of the sounds in your environment.
Opening your eyes when you're ready.
I hope you can continue to feel grateful for your physical and energetic heart today and that this awareness can tether you to the truth that you are more than your mind.
See you tomorrow for day four of this 10-day challenge.
