Today we're doing three rounds of powerful breathing using two techniques and three tempos to help focus the mind and energize the body.
The first technique is supraventilation,
In through the nose and out the mouth,
Like this.
Deep inhale,
Filling up the belly,
Pulling it up into the chest,
With a relaxed exhale out,
Then doubling the speed.
The second technique,
Known by many names,
But for today we'll call it psychedelic breathing.
It's in and out through the mouth,
Like this.
Each round will be separated with an exhale breath retention of one minute,
Getting as comfortable as possible,
Laying down flat,
Or sitting up tall,
Elongating the spine.
Let's begin in 3,

Deep breath into the belly,
Pulling it up into the chest,
Letting it go.
Deeply in.
Last breath of this tempo.
Double the speed.
Feeling the power of your breath with every breath in.
Take a deep breath in,
And hold.
Releasing into our 60 second breath retention.
Just releasing any tension within the body.
Celebrate the ability to hold this space in stillness.
Take a deep breath in 3,

Hold and gently squeeze the body.
Letting it go.
Get ready for round number 2.
Deep breath in.
Letting it go.
Deeply in through the nose.
Last breath of this tempo.
Double the speed.
Stay connected to the sensation of your breath,
Moment by moment.

Moving on to psychedelic breathing in and out through the mouth.
You're doing amazing.
Trust in your body's natural rhythm.

Releasing into our 60 second breath retention.
Relax into the breath hold.
