Hello lovely listeners,
It's Tansy here with a deep sleep meditation to dissolve stress and anxiety.
It will renew your mind and body whilst you sleep,
Will help you let go of overthinking and feel at peace,
Wake up feeling refreshed and ready for a great day.
It's set in the South English countryside where I grew up so I do hope you enjoy.
So for now,
Just take a few moments to make yourself really cosy,
Comfortable and fully supported.
Make any adjustments to your pillow,
Smooth out your duvet,
Whatever you need to help you relax and release the day.
And if you haven't already,
Gently closing down your eyes and now take some nice deep,
Slower breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth.
And a nice slow exhale as you now settle and arrive in this moment.
As you notice your body sinking more deeply into the mattress below you.
And in the theatre of your imagination,
You find yourself ambling through a peaceful English forest in early spring.
The air is fresh and cool and you can hear birdsong.
Below you is covered in moss and green grass.
And up above,
Through a canopy of beautiful treetops,
You can see a clear blue sky.
And in this forest,
There are many varieties of trees.
Oak trees,
Beeches,
Chestnuts and fir trees.
And the sun streams through their branches,
Casting flecks of dappled light across your path.
A breeze moves the leaves,
Rustling them gently,
And you come across a particular grove of trees that are larger and more impressive than all the others.
Wide trunks,
Long branches that reach high into the sky.
These trees are ancient beech trees,
Many hundreds of years old,
Broad and expansive.
You approach a tree,
Reach out and touch its silver trunk.
The smooth grey bark feels cool underneath your fingertips.
It's so serene here right now.
And you can't think of anywhere else you'd rather be.
You notice that your mind begins to calm and quiet.
As you understand over the years,
This tree has withstood and weathered so much.
Yet its calm,
Enduring presence brings a sense of ease as your body is feeling more grounded.
You imagine the roots,
Which sink deep into the soft,
Brown earth.
Your chest rising and falling as you breathe deeply.
The branches bend,
But do not break.
They are resilient and strong in the winds.
The springtime showcases the trees and plants alike in every bright shade of green imaginable,
Found only in these early months.
As you walk further,
The forest unfolds to greet you,
And the deeper you go,
The calmer you feel.
Rich brown trees giving way to lush green leaves,
Giving way to bright blue skies.
You also notice the flowers of the wood anemone drifting across the woodland floor like a scatter of pale stars.
You notice its delicate white petals trembling in the gentle breath of spring.
Unfurling on slender stems,
It catches brief shafts of sunlight before the leaf canopy closes and sways softly in dappled shade.
The wood anemone marks the forest's earliest awakening.
And just as you come around a corner,
You notice another color appears,
A glimmer of bright yellow on the ground up ahead.
Beside the path is a large cluster of wild daffodils.
Native to this part of the world,
Only grow for a few weeks every year.
Wild daffodils sway on slender stems,
Their pale yellow trumpets catching the light as they dance in the early spring breezes.
They are also one of the first flowers to bloom in spring.
They represent new beginnings and optimism.
Nestled amongst grass and moss,
They glow softly,
Their delicate blooms lending a quiet brightness to damp meadows and woodland clearings.
Scattering sunshine across the landscape,
Each nodding flower echoing the freshness and hope of the season's return.
Its bright yellow color is strongly linked to happiness,
Warmth and uplifting energy.
And the further you walk into the forest,
The more daffodils there are to see.
Along stream banks and open woods,
Wild daffodils rise lightly from the earth,
Their modest beauty far subtler than their garden kin.
Where there was once fallen leaves,
Now have shot up the beautiful,
Slender leaves.
That give way to a yellow sea that stretches out in every direction.
You walk carefully,
Slowly,
Which anchors you in the present,
One step and then another,
Your foot reconnecting with solid ground,
Your mind,
Body and breath all flowing together.
It feels like the daffodils will go on forever more,
Like you will always be moving aloft this yellow sea.
But then,
After some time,
The moss and leaves of the forest frawl,
The newly growing ferns are revealed once more.
The patches of downy green moss peeking through the yellow.
And then you notice up above,
Through the branches,
There is now a hint of gold in the sky.
As it begins to glow,
Twilight is growing nearer.
And at the end of this path,
You come to a small,
Babbling stream that moves through the woodland,
Clean,
Pure and clear.
It flows over the flinty rocks and past the ancient roots of the trees.
And beside this stream,
You notice a lovely,
Quiet and comfortable spot that looks so inviting.
A spot laid out just for you at the end of this brook and tucked beneath a towering oak tree.
There may be a soft and comfortable picnic blanket,
Some cushions,
Throws.
Imagine a lovely resting place,
Just as you would like it.
Relaxing there,
Your legs and feet feel supported comfortably after a day of rest.
Walking,
Leaning back against the trunk of the tree,
Your neck and shoulders relax as you settle into this place of deep rest.
It's as if this whole woodland is designed for your pure relaxation in mind.
The daffodils,
The beech trees,
The sound of the birds and the clarity of the fresh air.
A beauty that will stay with you even as the sun fades down into the horizon and the forest becomes quieter.
As your mind calms,
Releasing into the rhythms of the natural world.
As this fine day turns into a peaceful night.
As your body feels more and more relaxed.
Sinking deeper,
Connecting with peace.
Connecting with the serenity of the woodland and softening like nightfall.
The gentle blue-black velvet of the night settles into stillness.
Gently out,
Becoming aware of those subtle sensations as the breath enters the body and leaves the body.
Notice the air at the back of your throat,
Slightly cooler as you breathe in and slightly warmer as you breathe out.
Your chest and tummy rising and falling like the swaying branches.
A natural flow that eases you into a place of rest.
As if the earth is holding you,
Relaxing you.
Letting the mind naturally quiet as the body becomes at ease.
Settling like the night sky.
The soft sounds of water bringing you to the shore.
The water washes away any worries,
Any concerns flowing away from you now.
You are on the bank of this stream,
Resting peacefully as you allow any thoughts or worries to gently drift downstream.
Thoughts arising and then washing gently away as you come back to a steady flow.
Of your breath.
Breathing in.
Unfolding into this moment.
Settling into this place of rest.
As you move your attention through the body,
You can become aware of sensations within your body.
Feet warm or cool.
Top of the foot.
The sole.
Moving the awareness to the ankle.
You are supported and settled now.
You do not need to hold on anymore.
As you feel your calf muscles relaxing and softening.
As you ground and connect to the earth.
As you feel this gentle pull of gravity.
Your legs are heavy and at ease now.
Because there's nowhere else you need to be.
Allowing them to settle into the surface beneath you.
Bringing your awareness up to your back.
Each and every vertebrae.
Relaxation flows up your spine.
Washing away tightness or tension.
Releasing,
Relaxing as you go upwards into your shoulders.
Shoulders gently softening as this relaxation moves into your arms.
Gently lying by your side.
Nothing to do but rest.
Allowing your attention to gently wash down into your hands.
You notice any warmth or coolness in your hands.
Perhaps a little tingling in the fingers.
Or maybe nothing at all.
All sensations are welcome.
Releasing a little more.
And then with one more.
Slower,
Deeper breath.
Move your attention to your neck and jaw.
Accepting that there's nothing to worry about.
This invitation to rest.
Seeking peace.
And receiving peace.
As you soften and release.
As you feel the face.
Peaceful and softening around the eyes,
All the tiny little muscles around the eyes.
As you soak in the beauty of this evening.
You relax your mouth.
Letting the whole head sink deeper and deeper into the surface beneath you.
Any worry is washed away.
To include your whole body.
Allow that relaxation to flow within.
To flow without.
From the front of your body to the back.
Into a sense of deep comfort and heaviness in the back.
Feeling safe and supported.
Relaxing your mind as you settle in to rest.
Body and mind and the twilight to your peaceful dreams.
As you continue to drift and relax.
You can take these affirmations into your heart.
I am safe to rest now.
The day is complete.
Let go of overthinking.
Trusting my mind to quiet naturally.
My body knows how to soften,
Relax and sleep.
I am supported just as the earth supports the roots of the trees.
With each breath out,
I release what no longer serves me.
Like the daffodils in spring,
I allow myself to gently renew.
Calm flows through me as easily as water through the woodland stream.
I welcome peace without needing to try.
Like wildflowers,
I bloom in my own time without pressure.
I trust the rhythm of rest,
Renewal and gentle awakening.
My nervous system settles into safety and ease.
Held and protected by nature's quiet strength.
I allow sleep to arrive softly and gently.
Naturally and effortlessly.
Like petals in a spring breeze.
I am enough,
Just as I am in this moment of rest.
The night restores me deeply and completely.
Hope and calm are planted within me,
Ready to grow.
I sleep deeply,
Breathing gently,
Resting fully.
Like the daffodils at dawn,
I will wake,
Renewed,
Refreshed and at ease.
I permit myself to be at peace.
