Welcome to the Daily Insight.
My name is Jessica Amos,
Founder of Stay With Yourself and teacher here on Insight Timer.
Today's meditation is about listening to your inner wisdom.
All the answers are already inside you,
Ready and waiting to guide the way.
Let's be still and listen.
By sitting with your feet firmly planted on the floor and your hands gently resting in your lap.
Feel the back of your body being supported by your spine,
Strong,
Tall,
Upright.
And as you feel yourself being supported by the back of your body and by the chair under your seat,
Allow the front of your body,
Your heart space,
To soften and open.
Drop your shoulders down,
Relax your arms,
Relax your legs,
And breathe deeply into your tummy.
Imagine your tummy is a balloon being filled with air,
Expanding with each inhale and with each exhale.
Allow your tummy to soften.
Continue breathing deeply into parts of your body where you might be holding tension.
From here,
As you come back to your normal breathing,
I want you to imagine a place,
Possibly out in nature,
Inside somewhere,
Maybe somewhere you have been or something that you are making up in your own mind.
But a place that feels safe,
Like a sanctuary.
Imagine as much as you can about it.
What do you see?
What do you hear?
What is the air like?
The temperature?
The scent?
The airflow?
Imagine walking into this space,
Finding a comfortable spot to sit and to be present with yourself,
Taking in your environment,
The sights,
The sounds,
The light,
The air.
Feel how relaxed and comfortable you are here,
Enclosed,
Safe.
And as you sit here in this new place,
Notice there is a figure walking toward you.
And as this figure gets closer,
Notice this figure looks an awful lot like you.
Maybe older,
Maybe younger,
Maybe you exactly as you are now.
Maybe you as your soul self,
But you recognize yourself as this other being.
And this other self comes toward you and sits down in front of you with such a big smile on their face,
Delighted to see you,
So glad you came.
This other self,
This is your deepest,
Wisest,
Most knowing self.
This is the self that is always speaking,
The still small voice,
The intuition,
The voice,
The being that will never lead you astray,
That knows exactly what's best for you in each moment.
So take time right now to sit and ask some questions of your deeper self,
Your wisest self.
Anything and everything is okay,
And listen to what your wise self has to say.
And trust,
Try not to overthink it.
Sometimes you might get a short answer,
Sometimes a long one.
I'm going to leave you here for a bit to ask,
To seek wisdom,
And listen to your inner voice,
Your wise self.
If you find yourself getting distracted,
Or overwhelmed,
Or struggling to listen,
That is okay.
If you don't like what you hear,
That is okay.
The point is to practice turning inward,
Listening from within,
To the wisdom already inside of you.
Take time now to ask your wise self if there's anything they want you to know,
Anything they would like to say,
Just freely and openly.
And just receive without question,
Without overthinking it.
And feel free to ask for clarification,
To ask for more.
This is an open conversation.
It is safe.
There is nothing that can't be said or questioned.
Spend time now in the safety and the trust of the presence of your wise self.
Allow your inner voice to just speak freely,
To say what it will,
Trust and believe in what comes.
Again,
It is okay if this is new for you,
Or you aren't receiving answers,
Or you are receiving so many.
This practice is meant to help you build trust with yourself,
To trust your own guidance and your inner voice.
In any given moment,
This wise self sitting across from you is there to speak.
It only takes a moment to stop and pause.
Wherever you are,
Whatever you are doing,
No matter how urgent,
Chaotic or stressed you might feel,
You can always stop and listen.
Dear wise self,
What would you have me do?
And listen to the first thing that comes.
You will know it by its truth and how it resonates with your heart.
You will know it's true because it will feel true.
Trust that and continue to practice this listening.
For some of us,
After years of not listening to ourselves and heating our inner wisdom,
It takes time to be able to hear again.
And over time,
Perhaps the place in which you meet the visualization will change.
Perhaps your inner self will change in form or appearance.
And that is okay.
You can arrive differently every time because every moment is a new moment,
Sometimes requiring a different vision,
A different question,
A new answer.
Never stop asking.
Never stop seeking your own truth.
And trust what comes up for you.
And trust that you cannot lead yourself astray.
Your inner voice,
Your inner guidance has your very best part in mind,
Always.
Listen to what feels light.
Listen to what feels joyful.
Follow those things.
I am going to leave you here with several minutes of soft music.
You can continue to commune and connect with your wise self,
Asking questions and conversing in heartfelt connection with your wise self.
You can journal.
You can feel.
Whatever you want to do with this time,
It is yours.
For now,
I will leave you here.
Thank you for sharing your meditation practice with me today.
May you stay with yourself,
Today and always.
