Get comfy and let the body relax.
Sit for meditation or lie down for relaxation.
Close down the eyes and take a few deep cleansing breaths.
Each and every exhale is an opportunity to create space from the day gone by and what may come.
So let go of the busyness of life for a while and take this well deserved time for yourself.
Take a moment now to think about what it is you would like to let go of.
It could be physical,
Mental or emotional,
An ache,
Pain or tension in the body or mind.
Forgetting about the stories surrounding the letting go and focusing on the feelings.
This is more important and will help you add the healing touch.
Bring a gentle attention to the breath.
Rest it there for a while.
Feel the ebb and flow of the breath,
The up and down,
In and out,
Rise and fall.
Notice how it happens of its own accord.
You don't need to force or hold on and of course you don't need to let go of the breath.
It happens naturally on its own.
Just like nature,
Nothing need be rushed with the breath,
Pulled or pushed.
Feel the breath in its natural habitat.
Noticing the cycle of breath,
Feel it as a circle.
There's no beginning,
No middle and no end.
Use your breath as a guide to help you learn how to let go,
Inwardly and outwardly.
The gateway to freedom,
To letting go is through the body.
For a few moments,
Rest the mind,
Give it a break and feel into the body,
The body as a whole.
Soften,
Relax and let go of any obvious areas of tension.
Letting go and physical relaxation are two sides of the same coin.
As the body becomes relaxed,
The mind stays alert and awake.
You may at some point find that the mind wanders off,
Thinking about the past,
The future.
When you notice that you've wandered wherever it may be,
It's of no real concern.
Returning to the body and settling yourself back in.
Let's use the breath as a guide.
Send a gentle breath into the space in between the eyebrows,
Softening the brow and the brain.
Let the breath fill the skull and relax the face and head.
Pay close attention to the release in the eyes,
Temples,
Lips and jaw.
As you take your next exhale,
Feel for headspace and whisper,
I let go.
From now on,
Let this be your mantra,
I let go,
Let go,
Let go.
Guide your breath into the neck,
Throat and the tops of your shoulders.
On your next exhale,
Feel for a release.
Give yourself permission to fully relax.
From the tops of the arms to the tips of the fingers,
Release,
Relax and let go.
Let the breath fill and empty the torso,
Front,
Back,
Right side,
Left side.
Feel the gentle filling and emptying of the torso.
Let waves of calm and peace guide you.
Relax,
Release,
Let go.
Guide the breath to the pelvis.
Imagine filling the pelvic bowl with a warm,
Healing,
Cleansing breath,
Creating space and lightness for something new.
From the tops of the legs to the tips of the toes,
Release,
Relax and let go.
Let the body become heavier,
As if the skin and the muscles begin to hang gently from the bones.
This moment now is your pathway to surrender.
Imagine my voice,
A guide from within,
Reminding you to let go of attachments that no longer serve you,
Boxes you've put yourself in.
Strict blueprints created to keep you from feeling,
Being and living.
A reminder that you are already whole and complete.
Let yourself be open,
Present and aware.
Imagine you are in tune with nature.
There's a time to work,
Play,
Rest,
Sleep and heal.
Letting go of any self-made identity,
Judgements and opinions.
Those opinions of you being this or that,
Not being able to change or grow.
And nothing more than words from an empty ego.
Let go of these judgements and just feel into your human beingness,
Perfect,
Whole and complete.
Allow yourself to be fully here.
Taking a minute of silence,
Let yourself go.
Now it's time to close practice,
Reconnecting to the body through the senses.
Take a deep breath in and let go outwardly,
Feeling the body connected to your support system,
The floor,
Cushion,
Chair or bed.
And whenever you're ready,
Open the eyes.
Thank you for joining me.
Namaste.
