The sound of the bell,
The sound of the bell,
The sound of the bell.
Scan your body from the crown of your head to the soles of your feet as you're settling in and make any final adjustments that would ground you and settle you so you can be really still in this meditation.
So make any adjustments with your clothing,
Your props,
The blanket that covers you.
Remove any jewelry that might be distracting or anything that's nearby that's touching you that might be distracting and allow yourself just to settle and ground into the earth.
Give yourself permission just to be here and bask in being and close your eyes.
Connect to the rhythm of your heartbeat and settle and soften with your mindful breath and just continue your mindful breath,
Breathing in and breathing out.
Make a commitment to this stillness so your body and your brain can relax together as one unit.
Be still.
For any reason you do feel uncomfortable,
Feel free to change position,
But it is important to remain still and it's also nice to remind yourself to stay awake and aware throughout this meditation when you can stay awake and aware.
It's a very powerful form of meditation because we plant the seeds of our intention.
So make that commitment to stay awake and aware at the beginning of this meditation and say to yourself silently,
I'm staying awake and aware throughout this whole meditation.
Do not sleep.
If you do feel yourself drifting off to sleep,
There's a few things you can do to remind yourself to stay awake and aware.
You can come back to the sound of my voice as a way to condition yourself.
So use my voice as a tether.
Just come back to the sound of my voice to stay awake.
Or you could try tapping your finger on the floor or brushing the pads of your fingertips together as a reminder to stay awake and aware.
So I invite you to keep your eyes closed through this whole meditation.
Begin to move very slowly into a deeper state of meditation.
Begin breathing deeply and slowly,
So naturally,
So easy breath.
And feel the breath flow from the soles of the feet on the in-breath all the way to the crown of the head.
And as you exhale,
Feel the breath move from the crown of the head to the soles of the feet and everywhere in between.
Inhale,
The breath moves upward through the body.
And exhale,
The breath flows downward through the body.
Inhale through your nose and follow the breath in.
And follow the breath out.
And explore your breath as energy waves flowing from the soles of the feet to the crown of the head.
And as you exhale from the crown of your head to the soles of your feet.
Take a nice big breath in through the nose,
Fill your ribcage,
Your chest all the way around to the back of the heart.
Feel the chest expand to total expansion.
And then open mouth exhale,
Sigh the breath out.
And again,
Breathe in deeply,
Big breath in,
Feel the chest rise,
And open mouth exhale.
Now as you breathe in,
Come to that state of love and gratitude to prepare your heart chakra.
Invite a genuine sense of gratitude.
Gratitude for life,
For being alive,
And for anyone and anything in your life and feel that as a sense of love.
Feel that connection to the essence of your soul which is pure light and pure love.
Flowing within the deepest depths of your heart and draw into that sensation of love on the in-breath.
And feel it fully.
Allow yourself to feel that emotion is very real.
Pure love.
A pool of love deep within your heart.
And it's from this place we're going to plant the seeds of our intention.
Within the heart chakra,
The garden of the soul.
Anything you want to manifest in your life.
Anything at all.
Could be a relationship you want to figure out.
It could be a new career.
Could be something you want to manifest in your life or a quality you're trying to attain.
Create your own intention as though it's happening right now.
An affirmation said positively as though it's really happening.
For example,
The light within me is now creating miracles in my life right now.
Or I'm doing work I love and I'm richly rewarded creatively and financially.
Find your own intention.
And allow yourself five rounds of breath just to arrive on your intention.
Five rounds of breath.
Create your sankalpa three times silently to yourself and say it as though it's happening right now.
Three times.
Keep your mind alert as we now rotate our consciousness around the mandala of the body to different points and this is going to move rather quickly to maintain that flow of pure awareness.
Try not to focus too hard because that can keep you from relaxing and just relax the body part as I say it.
Send your awareness to your whole body from the crown of your head to the soles of your feet and everywhere in between.
The whole body as a unit and relax the whole body.
Explore it as tingling sensation.
The whole body.
Breathe into it.
Now relax just the right side of your body and soften the right side of the body and explore it as tingling sensation.
Just the right side.
Soften the right hand,
The right thumb,
Second finger,
Third finger,
Fourth finger,
Fifth finger.
Soften the palm of the right hand.
Explore it as tingling sensation.
Soften the right wrist,
Elbow,
Shoulder and armpit.
Soften the whole right arm from shoulder to fingertips.
Explore it as vibrant sensation.
Feel it tingle.
Soften the right hip,
Glute,
Thigh,
Knee,
Shin,
Ankle,
Top of the right foot,
Sole of the right foot,
Right big toe,
Second toe,
Third toe,
Fourth toe,
Fifth toe.
Relax,
Go a little bit deeper.
Receive your breath fully like the wind.
Exhale completely.
Explore just the left side of your body and feel the whole left side of the body tingle with sensation.
Do not sleep.
Be aware of just the left side.
Soften the left hand.
Feel it tingle.
Soften the left thumb,
Second finger,
Third finger,
Fourth finger,
Fifth finger.
Soften the palm of the left hand and explore it as tingling sensation.
Soften the left wrist,
Elbow,
Shoulder and armpit.
Soften the whole left arm from shoulder to fingertips.
As tingling sensation,
Explore that.
Soften the left hip,
Glute,
Thigh,
Knee,
Shin,
Ankle,
The top of the left foot,
The sole of the left foot,
Left big toe,
Second toe,
Third toe,
Fourth toe,
Fifth toe.
Relax,
Go a little bit deeper.
Receive the breath.
Inhale through your nose,
Fill the ribcage completely and exhale.
Send your awareness to the underside of your body,
Connected to the earth,
Grounded.
Feel that connection to the earth with both heels relaxed,
Softening to the earth.
Feel both calves together,
Both thighs together.
Relax your glutes and feel them soften and settle,
Grounded,
Weighted to the earth.
The hips are heavy.
Soften your back and be aware of the center of your back and that space between the shoulder blades,
Settling and softening.
Soften your shoulders,
Feel them as grounded.
Soften the back of the neck,
Explore it as tingling sensation.
Soften the base of the head and the top of the head.
Feel it as tingling,
Vibrant sensation.
Now draw your awareness to your third eye and draw your breath through the third eye.
The eyebrow center,
The space between the eyebrows as you soften your forehead.
Imagine that you're breathing in through your third eye.
And as you're breathing in,
Send that softening to the center of your mind.
Allow your mind to soften.
Send it to the back of your head.
And soften the cheeks and your jaw.
Relax your tongue from the roof of your mouth.
Send your awareness again to the breath as the chest is rising.
And as you exhale,
Feel the chest falling.
Inhale,
Chest rising.
Exhale,
Feel the chest falling.
Soften the belly.
Feel the belly expand on the in-breath.
And contract on the out-breath.
The whole body relaxed.
You're now in a more relaxed meditative state of mind.
Begin to explore sensation of heaviness in the body.
Weighted,
Solid,
Secure.
The heels are sinking like lead into the earth.
The hips heavy,
But do not sleep.
Stay awake and alert.
The shoulders are grounded and heavy.
The legs are heavy.
And the arms are heavy.
The whole torso and your head is heavy.
Breathe into it.
Draw your awareness to just the breath now.
Become aware that you're breathing.
And nothing else.
Gradually bring your attention again to the eyebrow center.
And draw the breath in through the eyebrow center.
Connect to a vibration of AUM at the eyebrow center as you breathe into it.
And hear the vibration of AUM in your breath.
Draw your attention now to your Chitakasha,
That space behind the closed eyelids.
It's a mind screen.
As tall as it is wide.
Send your awareness there.
And imagine an endless ocean,
An infinite ocean of rolling waves.
Glimmering in the moonlight.
Endless ocean waves.
Glimmering in the moonlight.
The waves are symbols of your unconscious mind.
A vast ocean of waves.
Hear the ocean waves within your breath.
Contained within that is a lightness to the body and feel and explore the body as very light.
Weightless.
Explore weightlessness to the body.
The arms are light.
And the legs are light.
And the whole body is weightless.
And there's an infinite ocean of rolling ocean waves in the moonlight.
Contained behind your closed eyelids.
Breathe into that.
Some images will be named now.
Envision them on a level of memory and imagination the best that you can.
Do not sleep.
Stay awake and alert.
Jump from image to image.
Cool ocean mist.
Fresh sea salt air.
Purple iris.
Hummingbird drinking nectar from a flower.
Dew drops on green grass.
Red hawk soaring in the sky.
Red hawk soaring in the sky.
White lotus flower.
Ancient redwood forest.
Orange sun rising over the sea.
Red clouds drifting.
Silence of snowfall.
Silence of snowfall.
Giant redwood tree.
Take a walk along a soft dirt trail.
In an ancient redwood forest.
The air is cool and refreshing.
It's in the daytime but the forest is very dark.
There are wisps of sunlight peeking through a cool morning mist.
The air is fresh and it's purifying.
Take a nice big breath in.
Gaze up at the sky scraping treetops.
The sun breaks through the scaly leaves of needle at the treetops.
And they seem to extend all the way to the heavens.
Straight to the cosmos.
The trunks are massive.
Wind your way around a maze of towering trees and walk around them.
And feel the soft earth underneath your feet.
Relish all of the greenery.
Sugar and ponderosa pines.
And delicate ferns.
And moss covered roots.
Fungi and hemlocks.
And berry bushes.
Contained within these mammoth trees is one particularly large giant tree.
And it calls you from a distance.
Walk up to that massive tree.
And connect with it.
Place your palm on its jagged bark.
And feel the texture of the bark underneath your palm.
And if you like,
You could hug that massive tree.
And connect your heart to the trunk of the tree.
And explore that connection to earth.
The majesty and wonder of Mother Earth.
And be aware of your heartbeat.
Take a breath in and explore that connection.
Peace and love and grounding in your heart.
Now sit down at the foot of this massive tree trunk.
And look up to the heavens.
A golden sun peaks from hundreds of feet above.
Gaze into the glowing sun of the day.
And within the sun,
See your vision of your sankhapa.
As though it's very real.
You can fill in all the details and feel it in your heart.
As though it's happening right now.
In the light of the sun.
And state your sankhapa three times again silently to yourself.
And know that it's real.
Feel it in your heart.
It is the truth.
Your sankhapa is the truth.
