You are not who the world told you to be.
When you were little you didn't ask for permission to shine.
You naturally shone as bright as you possibly could.
You sang badly but loudly.
You wore whatever felt like magic.
And you trusted your imagination far more than logic.
But then the world arrived with all of its rules.
Don't be too loud.
Don't want too much.
Don't draw outside the lines.
So you learned performance.
You learned to trade your authenticity for approval.
And every time you did,
A small piece of your aliveness faded away.
So today you're going to get it back.
You're going to reconnect to your magic and remember how to shine again.
If your eyes aren't closed then I invite you to close them now and picture yourself at three or five or seven,
A time before you learned how to shrink yourself.
I'd like you to see that version of you now doing something ridiculous and joyful,
Spinning in circles till you fall on the grass in giggles,
Painting a picture but having more fun getting the paint on yourself,
Talking to imaginary friends that were most likely angels in disguise.
Notice how unashamed this version of you is.
Notice how this child version of you doesn't care about outcomes or opinions.
They care about magic,
Joy and wonder.
They care about play.
They care about connection.
Now instead of observing them,
I want you to step into their world now.
Pick up the paintbrush,
Raise your own hands and begin to spin.
Pick up a toy microphone and sing loudly.
I'm asking you to go into your imagination and remember how that magic felt.
Reconnect to the feeling of play,
Curiosity and mischief.
Feel those sensations again in your body now.
Those sensations are not lost in the past.
The sensations you're allowing yourself to feel right now,
That's your truth waking up.
It's the real you pushing through everything you built to survive and to fit in.
You are not who the world told you to be.
You are who you started out as being.
Wild,
Original,
Free and whole.
That's the truth of you.
It's time to stop performing,
Stop perfecting and start returning to what's real.
To peel off every rule,
Every expectation and every disguise until what's left is pure and unmistakably you.
Radical self-connection isn't about becoming more.
It's about finally meeting the self that got buried underneath.
The world taught you to be acceptable but your soul came here to be electric.
So today please be too much.
Allow yourself to be wild in some small way.
Wear colourful clothes that don't blend in.
Sing badly to a song you don't like to admit that you love.
Because every act of honesty is a doorway back to yourself.
And the more you allow yourself to be truly you,
The louder your life begins to hum with that magical truth.
Making everything in your life shinier and brighter.
So today you remember to be a kid again.
Because you were never meant to leave your inner kid behind.
