Welcome to this evening meditation for when you're overthinking.
I'm Saras Nekroce and I'll be your guide tonight.
If your mind feels cluttered with thoughts and you're caught in a cycle of overthinking,
This meditation will hopefully help you find stillness,
Clarity and a sense of ease before you go to sleep.
So go ahead and find a comfortable position,
Whether you're seated or lying down.
And then gently close your eyes,
If that feels safe.
And take a deep breath in,
Breathe in a sense of calm and spaciousness.
And as you exhale,
Release any tension that has built up from swirling thoughts and letting them drift away with your breath.
And now just let your breath settle into its own steady rhythm,
Creating space with each inhale and exhale to clear out the clutter in your mind.
Just keep breathing like that for a few breaths on your own.
Now bring your awareness to your body,
Feel the surface beneath you,
Steady and supportive,
As if it was holding you,
Reminding you that you are safe in this moment.
Notice if there's any tension in your body,
Maybe your forehead,
Shoulders or stomach,
Places where overthinking often shows up as tightness.
Breathe into those areas,
Allowing them to soften with each exhale.
It's okay to let go of the need to solve everything right now.
You can simply be here and that's enough.
As you keep breathing,
Bring your focus now to the center of your chest,
Your heart space,
Your heart chakra.
Breathing can make this area feel tight,
Like you're carrying the weight of every thought and decision in your heart.
With every inhale,
Visualize your heart expanding,
Creating space for clarity and peace.
And with every exhale,
Imagine the thoughts floating away like leaves in the wind,
No need to hold on to them.
Sometimes we believe that by thinking things through over and over,
We'll find a solution or gain control.
But often clarity comes actually when we allow ourselves a moment of stillness.
So take a deep breath in and as you do,
Fill yourself with a sense of trust in your own inner wisdom.
Trust that it's okay to pause,
To let your mind and heart rest for a while.
Imagine the thoughts gently releasing,
Giving your heart and mind the spaciousness they need to settle.
Now picture a gentle,
Soft light radiating from your heart,
Spreading through your whole body.
This light brings warmth and calm,
Melting away any lingering tension or tightness.
With each inhale,
Allow this light to grow,
All the way up to your mind as well,
Filling you with a sense of ease and spaciousness.
And with each exhale,
Send that light out,
Letting it carry away any thoughts or worries that no longer serve you.
Nothing doesn't have to have a hold on you.
When you let go and create space for stillness,
You invite clarity and ease into your life.
As we're getting to the end of this meditation,
Allow yourself to really just sink into this sense of calm,
Knowing that you're exactly where you need to be.
In this moment of stillness,
Trust that clarity will come when you create the space for it.
You don't have to have all the answers right now.
Simply rest in the comfort of knowing that everything will unfold in its own time.
Take this peaceful feeling with you as you settle in for the night.
And when you're ready,
Slowly bring your awareness back to the room,
Wiggling your fingers and toes,
And gently open your eyes.
Namaste.
Thank you so much for spending this time with me today.
I wish you a peaceful night.
