Welcome to this meditation to help you end the day with gratitude.
I'm Sarasenna Groce and I'll be your guide today.
This is your time to pause,
Reflect on the day's blessings,
And settle into a feeling of appreciation and contentment before you rest.
So go ahead and find a comfortable position.
Can do this seated or lying down with your hands resting gently on your lap or at your sides.
If you feel safe you can close your eyes and then start by taking a deep breath in through your nose,
Feeling your lungs expand fully.
Hold it for a moment and now exhale slowly through your mouth,
Letting go of any tension or stress lingering in your body.
Take another deep breath in,
This time imagining your breathing in calm and openness.
Hold it briefly and as you exhale release any distractions that might pull you away from this moment.
And now just let your breath find a soothing,
Steady rhythm and bring your attention to your body.
Notice how it feels at the end of this day.
We'll start at the top of your head and just do a quick body scan.
Start by relaxing your forehead,
Your brow,
Your eyes,
And then allow your jaw to relax.
Relax your shoulders,
Your arms,
And feel the heaviness in your arms and hands.
Soften your belly and let it sink into the support beneath you.
Relax your hips and your legs and let that relaxation flow all the way down to your feet.
And simply feel your body supported and at ease.
And now think back over your day and don't worry about what went wrong or what could have gone better,
But instead focus on what you appreciate about this day.
Maybe it was a kind word from someone,
A moment of laughter,
Or even the comfort of a simple meal where you felt good,
A moment outside in nature,
Whatever it is,
Big or small,
These moments really deserve your recognition.
Notice how you feel when you think about these positive moments.
Maybe you feel warmth in your chest or even have a soft smile on your face or a sense of lightness within you.
Allow these feelings to grow and fill your entire being.
Take another deep breath and as you exhale,
Silently repeat the following affirmations.
I am grateful for the abundance in my life.
I appreciate the kind and small moments and connections I experience today.
I acknowledge my own efforts and growth.
And now I welcome rest with a thankful heart.
Let these words settle,
Grounding you in a sense of gratitude and contentment.
Feel them become part of you,
Reminding you that even on challenging days,
There are things to be thankful for.
And now imagine carrying this gratitude with you into your night's rest,
Slipping under the covers feeling calm,
Valued,
And supported by the goodness in your life.
And then envision waking up tomorrow with a heart that's open and ready to embrace new blessings.
And now as we close this meditation,
Just enjoy another moment of stillness and peace.
Feel the gentle glow of gratitude within you,
Holding you as you prepare to rest.
And when you're ready,
You can slowly begin to bring your awareness back to the present moment,
Wiggle your fingers and toes gently,
And then open your eyes.
Carry the sense of gratitude and contentment with you as you move into the night,
Knowing that you can return to this feeling of appreciation tomorrow again.
