Welcome to this meditation for building confidence with a growth mindset.

Please find a comfortable position,
Either sitting or lying down.
And now gently close your eyes if that feels safe.
And now let's bring our awareness to the senses.
Notice the sounds around you.
And now the sensations on your skin.
And maybe the support of the surface beneath you.
Feel the force of gravity,
The weight grounding you,
Connecting you to this world.
Slowly beginning to settle in and relaxing your body.
And now imagine yourself at the beginning of a new journey,
Facing a skill you want to learn.
Maybe bring something to mind.
You might feel unsure,
Unskilled or even a bit uncomfortable.
And that's okay.
We're all going through this.
Everyone starts somewhere.
As you breathe in now,
Say to yourself,
I embrace the opportunity to grow.
And as you breathe out,
Say to yourself,
I let go of any feeling of not feeling competent.
Let's do it again.
Breathe in,
I embrace the opportunity to grow.
And breathe out,
I let go of any feeling of not feeling competent.
And one last time,
Breathe in,
I embrace the opportunity to grow.
And breathe out,

Continue breathing deeply and evenly.
And now picture a child learning to walk,
Wobbling and falling.
Maybe it's a child you know,
Or maybe it's yourself as a child.
This child isn't discouraged when it falls down.
It just keeps trying,
Knowing that each attempt is a step toward mastery.
Breathe in and say,
I embrace the process of learning.
And breathe out and release any fear of failure.
Breathe in and say,
I embrace the process of learning.
And by breathing out,
You release any fear of failure.
And one last time,
Breathe in and say,
I embrace the process of learning.
And by breathing out,
You're releasing any fear of failure.
Continue breathing deeply and evenly.
Next,
Let's consider responsibility and how it ties into confidence.
When we take responsibility for our actions and their results,
We remove the excuses and justifications that hold us back.
Let's breathe on it.
Breathe in and say,
I am responsible for my growth.
And breathe out and say,
I own my actions and their outcomes.
Breathe in,
I am responsible for my growth.
Breathe out,
I own my actions and their outcomes.
And one last time,
Breathe in,
I am responsible for my growth.

And now imagine yourself embarking on a serene hike up a gentle hill,
Surrounded by lush greenery and the soothing sounds of nature.
Listen,
If you hear the chirping of birds.
As you begin your ascent,
You are at the base of the hill,
Representing unconscious incompetence,
Unaware of the knowledge and skills you lack.
With each step,
You gain awareness and clarity,
Symbolizing the transition to conscious incompetence.
Now you pause at a beautiful overlook,
Where you can see the path ahead clearly.
Here you acknowledge what you need to learn and improve on.
It's like realizing there's more to the trail than you initially thought,
But feeling empowered by the view and the clarity it brings.
Continuing your journey,
You climb up further up the hill.
And now you're embodying conscious competence.
You practice deliberately,
Applying your newfound knowledge and skills with intention and focus.
And each step becomes more purposeful and confident as you navigate the path ahead.
Finally,
You reach the summit of the hill,
Representing unconscious competence.
And now your skills and knowledge flow effortlessly,
Integrated into your being.
You can really take in the panoramic view,
Feeling accomplished and at peace with your journey of growth and learning.
Look at the green hills everywhere around you and bask in this knowing that you can become confident at any skill if you embrace the opportunity to grow.
Keep breathing.
And now just enjoy this moment of deep rest and relaxation in your own personal inner sanctuary,
A place where you can go to be connected with your higher self,
Secure,
Grounded.
You feel a deep sense of peace and inner love and confidence.
And now bring your awareness back to your breath and just allow your body to breathe for you with no effort whatsoever.
