Today,
Un-whole-hearted,
Appreciating what is.
Close your eyes now.
Breathe.
Allow yourself to settle into the space that you are in.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Let it go.
Inhale.
And hold.
Exhale.
Let it go.
Allow yourself to become present to the feelings in your body.
You might feel them as sensations,
As temperature,
Pressure,
Tension,
Or movement.
What do you feel?
Where do you feel it?
See if you can allow these sensations to be there.
Here is an invitation to sit with yourself.
To be intimately present with what is.
Allow yourself to breathe.
I invite you to breathe into the parts of you that are most looking for your attention.
The ones that are most looking for your appreciation and love.
You might place one hand on this part of your body and offer tenderness and care.
If emotions arise,
Allow them to move through you and breathe loving awareness into this moment.
We often go through life disconnected from the gifts of life.
We often move through life without appreciating the goodness and the beauty both within us and around us.
We often think that by reminding ourselves what we are missing,
We will be more likely to get to what we want.
That it somehow supports our journey to focus on our lack.
We often focus on striving to get somewhere,
Somewhere that we think will make us happy.
And let the joy of where we presently are remain unfelt.
We often perpetuate a sense of lack from our obsession with getting somewhere new.
We often keep ourselves in a state of not quite there yet,
Having forgotten that celebration along the way supports us in our creation.
What if,
Dear one,
You let yourself feel the immense gifts of life?
What if you sat with what is and let yourself sink into appreciation of all the treasures alive in this very moment,
In you and around you?
What would it be like to let gratitude and appreciation move through you like a cleansing,
Sacred wave?
What if you let yourself appreciate life itself?
What would open up for you?
What would become available to you in living with the joy and satisfaction of what is?
If you were to appreciate life in the very moment that you have now,
The present,
What would become available to you in allowing yourself to connect to love,
To admiration,
To wonder,
And awe?
Feel your breath,
The rising and falling of your chest.
You might place one hand on your heart and one on your belly.
Inhale and hold.
Exhale and let it go.
Continue to breathe at your normal pace and I invite you to begin to notice the gift of your breath.
Notice the sensations of your inhale,
Your exhale,
This air that gives you life.
Notice your feet,
The ones that allow you to walk through life.
Your legs that allow you to propel in any direction that you choose.
Notice your abdomen and chest,
The organs that take care of you.
Your heart that beats for you.
Notice your arms,
Your shoulders,
Your hands that allow you to touch this world.
Notice your neck supporting your crown.
Notice your head allowing you to create your world.
Allow yourself to breathe and relax.
I invite you to breathe a thank you to your body.
What do you appreciate about yourself?
Is there a quality about you,
An innate gift,
A gem that you can offer love to and hold as sacred?
I invite you to embrace the beauty and gift that you are.
What do you appreciate about your loved ones?
Allow someone in your life to come to mind and notice what it is you love and appreciate about them.
You might imagine telling this person what it is you appreciate.
Allow yourself to breathe.
What gift of life do you most appreciate in this moment?
Offer thanks and allow the warmth of love to move through you.
May you move through life intimately present to the boundless beauty inside you and around you.
May you treasure life and the journey you are on.
May you appreciate the gift of what is.
And with quiet flame of help I become warm to you.
