Today on Wholehearted.
Stillness in the storm.
Dear one.
Breathe.
Waves crashing and winds blowing.
We can sometimes find ourselves in an internal storm.
Where our patterns of worry and fear culminate in a powerful swirl.
Like wind and rain in our minds.
We may not realize the toll that our thoughts of fear and worry have on our state of being.
And we may find ourselves repeating a cycle of fear and worry until we are caught in the storm of our unease.
We are powerful creators.
And the storm we conjure can often lead us to feelings of stress.
In our body.
In our mind.
In our being.
We use our power to shift from peace to gloom in a heartbeat.
We turn from sunshine to darkness swiftly and subtly.
How can we quiet the weight of our own disquiet?
How can we rise above the demand of our created tempest?
Dear one.
You are human.
You are not alone in your pain.
Nor are you judged for it.
I invite you to breathe and to extend a loving hand to the part of you who asks for your comfort.
Who asks for your understanding.
The part of you who needs your gentleness.
Your compassion.
The part of you who is shy to ask.
Yet most desperate for grace.
How can we forge a new path?
Except to first acknowledge and let go of the one we are in.
Breathe.
I invite you to notice any sensations that you may feel in your body.
Inhale.
And exhale.
I invite you to breathe deeply and to begin to release whatever shows up for you to let go of.
Allow yourself to let go.
Notice your shoulders.
Your hips.
Notice your jaw.
Your forehead.
And allow yourself to relax any tension that you may feel.
Feel your inhale.
The breath of life filling your chest.
Feel your exhale.
The natural release of your body letting go.
Yet even in the midst of our storm,
There exists a stillness.
Beyond the storm exists a clear sky.
And within ourselves exists a clear space.
Free of worry and fear.
It is the space between our thoughts.
It is our essence.
Dear one,
When you are in this storm,
I invite you to acknowledge the pain that you feel.
And also to acknowledge that you have another way.
That there is another path available to you.
That this storm raging inside is itself a messenger of contrast.
A messenger here to show you there is a path of greater alignment with who you really are.
Dear one,
What would it be like to give compassion to your mind?
And to connect with your breath,
Your stillness,
And the peace that you are?
What would it be like to learn to use your power of thought to move instead towards your heart,
Your dream,
And the callings of your soul?
What would it be like to access stillness in the storm?
It's time now to lay your fear down and rest here.
Close your eyes now.
Inhale And exhale.
Inside of you there is a calm center.
There is a calm place where there is peace and knowing.
A place of refuge.
Amidst any storm that you may be in,
This refuge is available to you.
May you find it in your breath.
In your inhale.
And your exhale.
Feel the rising and falling of your breath.
Feel the air filling your lungs.
Feel tension release as you let go.
Inhale And exhale.
I invite you to come into stillness,
Into a place where you may meet your own soul.
Your own soul knows you,
Loves you,
Understands you completely,
And where you are in relationship to everything in your life.
This part of you is in peace,
In love,
In grace.
It doesn't leave this wholeness and instead patiently waits for you to join it.
For it knows,
Dear one,
That you alone hold the power to choose the direction you intend your thoughts to go.
To go to fear or to love.
To go to worry or to trust.
You get to choose.
Take a deep breath in.
And let it go.
Feel the rising and falling of your chest.
I invite you to place one hand on your heart.
You might repeat to your heart,
I love you and I'm here.
What does your body tell you?
Thank your body and allow yourself to accept whatever message it shares with you to be wisdom for you.
Allow yourself to bow at the altar of your own temple.
The one who holds you and carries you through this life.
Notice that you have the power to choose to treat your body and yourself with kindness in your thoughts and in your ways of being.
Dear one,
In our patterns and habitual cycles of thought,
I invite you to notice that they are not who we are.
Just as winds blow and clouds pass through our sky,
Thoughts and emotions pass through our being.
What would it be like to give yourself space and to extend love to the storm as it passes through?
What would it be like to thank the wind and the rain?
What would it be like to receive the message from your body as insight and opportunity to notice and let go of worry and fear?
To let go of that which no longer serves you and that which does not honor you?
What would it be like to compassionately open up space to observe and become familiar with your mind?
What would it be like to recognize space surrounding your thoughts,
A clear sky within and beyond the storm?
What would it be like to compassionately notice and give yourself space to choose a new path for your thoughts,
One of love,
Of trust,
Of peace?
What would it be like to own your responsibility to choose a path of thought and the power you hold to choose one that aligns with your soul?
Dear one,
You are love.
Breathe.
Allow your breath to nourish you,
To fill you,
And to move your energy in the direction of most love and ease.
You are a precious and powerful being,
An infinite creator.
In this life journey,
May you embrace the possibility of growth available to you in letting go of old patterns and creating new ones.
May you compassionately hold space to notice your own mind and allow yourself to practice choosing love whenever again greeted by patterns of worry and fear.
May you treat these patterns with compassion,
Like old ways who once served you and now you are setting free.
May you let them know that you now lead the way.
May you breathe peace into your storm.
May you quiet the waves and the rain.
May you soften the wind.
And may you find stillness in the storm.
