Look around,
Name five things that you can see.
Now close your eyes if it's appropriate in your situation and hear the sounds all around you.
Name four things that you can hear.
Bring your attention now to the sensations you can feel through your skin.
Name three things that you can feel.
Take some gentle deep breaths through your nose and allow your attention to focus on any smells that are present.
Name two of them.
And finally,
Becoming aware of your mouth and your sense of taste.
Name anything that you can taste,
Even if it's just slightly.
Take another deep breath.
Acknowledge all of the information coming in through your senses in this one moment.
Whenever you feel ready,
Open your eyes again.
