Somatic Tracking is a practice of tuning into body sensations with a sense of safety. It's especially useful for persistent, brain-generated symptoms—often called neuroplastic symptoms—such as chronic pain, headaches, dizziness, fatigue, or nausea. By observing these sensations without fear, judgment, or the urge to control them, you can help your brain reduce them over time. The goal isn’t to eliminate symptoms immediately but to develop a more accepting and gentle response toward them through regular practice. It is important to always have any new symptom assessed by a medical professional before treating it from a mind-body perspective.

Close your eyes and release any tension in your body.

Legs,

Tummy,

Shoulders,

Arms,

Face and jaw.

And now gently bring your attention inward and notice any sensation there in your body.

Sensing it just as it is in this moment,

Allowing it to be there.

Giving it space to do whatever it wants to do.

Remembering that this sensation is not causing you any physical harm.

So for now you can just watch it.

And giving yourself permission to drop the struggle with it.

See it for what it is.

Like you are watching a wild bird or a woodland animal.

Wanting to observe its natural behaviour without disturbing it or letting it see you.

We don't need to catch it or dissect it or try and scare it away.

Just bear witness to its presence within you.

Meeting it just as it is.

Put any fear aside and just observe it with detached curiosity.

Keep breathing.

Now broaden your awareness to how your whole body feels in this moment.

And then slowly open your eyes and come back.
