Hello,
Thank you for joining me.
I love this technique as it brings a little bit of movement with a really nice mantra just to ground us in out of the kind of healthy sympathetic space and into that really lovely calm and relaxed place.
So get yourself comfortable however that looks for you today.
Allow your body to find stillness and if it feels safe to do so close down your eyes.
And so now I want you to bring your thumb to your little finger.
You can do this on one or both hands,
Whatever your body would like today.
And as you tap your thumb to your little finger I want you to repeat the word peace.
Peace.
Then tap your ring finger and say is.
Middle finger,
Within.
And index finger,
Me.
So we start by tapping the thumb to the little finger and working our way up before heading back down to the little finger.
Just finding a gentle rhythm that's supportive for you in this moment.
And as you do so you want to add in the mantra peace is within me.
Peace is within me.
Peace is within me.
Find that rhythm,
Find that tap.
Know that it's normal to get distracted.
So keep going tapping your little finger,
Ring finger,
Middle finger,
Index finger and back.
Peace is within me.
Peace is within me.
And know of course that it's natural to get distracted.
You might lose the mantra,
You might lose the rhythm of your finger taps but that's normal,
That's okay.
In fact the beautiful thing about mindfulness is that when we bring ourselves back to peace is within me and the finger taps we bring ourselves back into the present moment and that's where we really feel the benefit.
Keep going.
Peace is within me.
Peace is within me.
Beautiful.
Obviously you can stay with this technique for as long as you need but when you're ready just allow your arms to drop,
Your fingers to stop tapping.
Connect into the breath,
Maybe take a couple of deeper breaths.
Think through the mantra one last time.
Peace is within me.
And then gently open your eyes and bring some movement back into the whole body and go about your day.
Thank you so much for being here with me.
I hope to see you again.
See you again soon.
Take care.
