A simple practice,
A gratitude moment.
Find yourself in a comfy place,
Or as comfy as you can make it for the next minute or so.
Allow yourself to settle,
Whether that's sitting,
Standing,
Or lying down.
And just start to notice the rhythm of your breath.
The in and out that's ever-present,
Bringing us back to the present.
Now allow your mind to wander back over the day or week that has just passed.
And in this moment,
I want you to think about a person that you are grateful for.
Who in the past week deserves your thanks?
Whether you say it to them in person,
Or whether it's just between you and yourself.
Beautiful.
Now,
Casting your mind back still,
What is one experience that you've had this week that you're grateful for?
It may not have been the easiest of things,
But we can still be grateful for it.
Or perhaps it was.
What experience are you grateful for?
Changing direction a bit now,
I want you to think about a place that you are grateful for.
Whether that's an entire country,
Or your bed,
It doesn't matter.
Where is a place that has felt really safe and secure and grounding for you this week,
And so that you are grateful for it?
And last,
But no means least,
What is one belonging that you're grateful for in this moment?
Something that brings you joy when you see it.
Something that has meaning or sentimentality.
Or perhaps something that's just been very practical and useful over the last week.
Amazing.
So there's your gratitude moment.
A person,
A place,
An experience,
And a belonging.
Do this anytime you need a moment just to ground yourself and think about all the beautiful things that are in your life.
