Now we're going to explore breathing.
In the yoga tradition and other meditation traditions in the world,
The breath is often used as a meditation element,
As a focal point.
One of the reasons for doing this is that the breath can only happen in the present,
Right where you are.
So paying attention to your breath opens an immediate portal into being right here,
Right now.
Hold with your eyes closed,
Your body at ease.
Notice how you are breathing.
For now,
Do not try to control your breath in any way.
And then notice if it is possible to make your inhalations and exhalations a little bit longer without any strain or struggle.
Keeping your breath smooth,
Silent and easy.
Just try to make your breath slightly longer.
When this new length of breathing feels more familiar,
Refresh your smile and consider lengthening your breath a little bit more.
Remember,
No need for struggle or strain,
No self-judgment.
Can you savor your breath?
With curiosity,
Explore perhaps lengthening your breath a little bit more.
Just making your breath slightly longer without any strain.
Notice if your breath is flowing evenly through both nostrils.
Be curious to notice if your breath is expanding evenly throughout your whole torso.
It may,
It may not.
Be curious to feel this.
If it is intelligent to do so,
Consider making your breath slightly longer again,
Both on the inhalation and the exhalation,
As long as that is not forced in any way whatsoever.
Perhaps,
Think of your breath as a Haz lined up with either a bottle of water,
Or a towel Perhaps try one more time to make your breath slightly longer.
Remember to keep a gentle smile on your face,
Inner brightness.
Be okay if it is not possible for you to make your breath any longer.
No self-judgment.
After the next exhalation,
Let go of any control over your breath.
Allow your breath to flow at its own pace naturally.
Allow your breath to flow at its own pace naturally.
