This meditation can be used any time of day that you feel overstimulated.
It can be great at the end of the day after being in a variety of environments around a lot of different people's energy,
Navigating all the different demands,
And especially when it's time to settle for sleep.
It can be really useful for those of us who are empaths or highly sensitive people.
Where we experience input at an exponentially high level,
Be sure that you've set aside a window of time where you can simply relax,
Unwind,
And not be disturbed.
Consider being in a space with low or no lighting,
Limited or no additional sound,
Just to minimize the input.
Conversely,
If it helps you to have a little gentle music playing in the background,
You can do that as well.
Let's begin by starting with a few easy breaths.
Just allow the breath to move with ease,
Gently in and out.
I'd like to invite you to give yourself permission to let go.
Give yourself permission to let go of any further activity,
Productivity,
Any thoughts.
Allow the day to be done,
To soften at the edges and shift down,
To ease the energy,
To allow any sense of pressure or pushing to fall away.
Give yourself permission to let go of this day so that you may surrender to the quiet of the night.
Imagine it falls away almost like little rivulets of water during a gentle rain.
It simply washes away.
Let go of all that does not belong to you,
The energy,
Thoughts,
Ideas,
Emotions.
Allow yourself to breathe in the choice to only be in this moment.
Breathe in the choice to feel,
To notice,
To attend to and nurture your body and soul.
Imagine seeing any thoughts or demands from the day fall away to the background.
Imagine the thoughts and demands want a rest as well.
They are tired too.
Give your thoughts and demands permission to rest,
Telling them that you value them and will attend to them tomorrow.
That they can rest the entire night,
And that they can rest and attend to them tomorrow.
That they can rest the entire night and awaken with newness tomorrow when you are ready.
Imagine mentally dropping into a beautiful space that is ideal for you in this moment.
Whether you see yourself in a comfortable,
Quiet,
Dark room with lots of soft cozy pillows.
Or maybe you see yourself resting in the grass beneath a starlit sky,
The air a perfectly soothing temperature.
Welcome a sense of being soothed.
Allow in a softening,
A letting down of any vigilance.
It's time to rest.
You are safe.
It's okay to be here in the quiet,
Resting and restoring.
Breathe.
I am safe.
It is okay to let go.
It is okay to let go.
I move into peace.
Gently breathe in softness,
Gentleness to all of your body and hold it there for a moment.
And exhale the day.
Imagine it wafting away like a wisp of fog.
Inhale peace and hold it for a moment.
And gently exhale any energy you gathered along the way from people and places.
Inhale your wholeness and hold for a moment.
Gently exhale expectations of yourself and others.
Let them go.
Inhale your source energy and vibration and hold for a moment.
Gently exhale challenges or frustrations.
Breathe in and welcome grace to yourself and others and hold for a moment.
And exhale all that is not yours.
Breathe in a sense of calm to your entire nervous system,
Every muscle and cell and hold for a moment.
And exhale releasing back to your sense of self and wholeness.
Returning to your natural rhythm of breath.
Inviting in softness,
Gentleness,
Peace,
Wholeness,
Source energy,
Grace,
Calm.
Feel your edges and vibrations moving.
A gentle steady hum.
Feel your energy shift and softly swirl.
Restoring to balance and natural flow.
Feel yourself easing breath.
The breath moving effortlessly in and back out again.
I feel peace.
I welcome ease.
I allow flow.
Begin to notice how your muscles have relaxed and continue to relax more and more.
Begin to notice how good it feels to be in this quiet down shifting,
Slowing,
Easing,
Allowing yourself to let go and restore.
If there are any spaces where the muscles or energy feels tight or stuck,
Gently breathe light and soft energy into those spaces.
Invite a sense of love to that space and imagine it could open and soften,
Maybe a little or maybe entirely.
Surrender to the softness,
The light,
The love.
I am aligned.
My energy flows gently.
I am soothed and restored.
Slowly breathing in a few more rounds of breath.
Inviting in whatever else you need to fully surrender to this still part of the day.
Invite what you need.
Breathe it all in,
Into your lungs,
Heart,
Cells,
Energy field,
Right into your root and into your sense of wholeness.
Imagine you're restored.
See your energy body as calm,
Vibrating gently,
Entirely clear.
This is you.
And if it's useful,
You can imagine having a container.
Hold your bright,
Natural energy so that it's only your energy.
Nothing else comes in.
This is my true self.
I am home.
I can rest.
I trust myself.
And either stay in this space a little while longer or begin to finish with a few slow breaths,
Feeling yourself more and more of your body in this time and space and slowly completing your meditation,
Feeling completely calm,
Restored to your own energy.
