Today's theme is connecting to each other right now.
Close your eyes and get into a comfortable position.
Begin to slowly relax.
Relax your arms and relax your legs.
If your mind drifts away,
Gently bring it back to the present moment.
If your body feels unsettled,
Gently bring it to stillness.
Be in the present.
Be still.
Be in your body.
Bring your awareness to your breath.
Breathe in and breathe out.
Breathe in and relax.
Breathe out and release.
Continue to pay attention to your breath.
Quiet your mind.
Still the body.
Connect the mind with the body and the breath.
You are here.
You are now.
Imagine you are a red sprout on a budding tree.
It is spring.
The sun softly lands on your head,
Hands and feet.
You smile at the sun,
For its light and warmth touches your heart.
The wind gently blows and fills you with fresh air.
From your perch way up high,
You hear the sounds of children playing games below you.
Occasionally,
People stop by to admire your beauty,
Lean against the tree's trunk and even give it a hug.
Yes,
It is wonderful to feel this love and be a sprout on a tree.
As a sprout,
A tiny baby on this mighty tree,
You wonder how the tree takes care of itself and what is your purpose.
You visit the squirrel who has been a long-term resident of the tree.
The wise squirrel goes over to a shelf and pulls out a dusty old book.
The squirrel begins to tell you the story of the tree.
Every morning,
I wake up and align with my true north.
I begin by extending my roots out and into the four corners of the earth to stabilize me.
My branches flex and flow like water.
As I build an inner fire,
My trunk expands and my leaves and sprouts open and turn towards the sun.
The fresh air softens and fills my core to create space for something new.
Some days,
It's not easy to stand strong and empowered,
The squirrel reads.
When the storms appear and I split in different directions,
I enter into a place of fear and instability.
I forget to put my drishti on what's possible.
In that moment,
I turn inward and listen for guidance.
At that moment,
My inner voice reminds me to breathe,
Stay present,
And stand for something I believe in,
Like hope or love.
These words of comfort give me access to power and integrity,
Not weakness and limits.
These words of comfort help me shed the dried up and dead twigs and branches to make room for something new.
The squirrel turns to the chapter,
Describing the purpose of sprouts like me.
Sprouts are more than a sign of growth,
They are a symbol of connection.
Each sprout is responsible for its blooming.
However,
Real growth happens when these sprouts unite and act from a place of intention,
Community,
And potential.
As a sprout,
You need to develop a heart of faith so that all the other sprouts can take the leap of faith together.
The sprouts transform and eventually open as flowers.
One flowering sprout on a tree is lovely,
But a tree covered with flowers is magical.
Wow,
As a little sprout,
I had no idea how much I mattered to the big and noble tree.
I realize when I focus my energy inward and stay present,
The whole tree is able to stand in true north.
My heart bursts with excitement at the idea of helping the other sprouts blossom and the tree reach new heights.
All I need to remember is to try easy,
Be true to myself,
And show my true colors.
Squirrel closes the book and looks me in the eye.
Little sprout,
Tell me five ideas you have learned from this book.
With confidence,
I say,
Be still and know.
Step out of my comfort zone and commit to growth.
Connect to others to create possibilities and potential.
Speak into the present moment.
Everything in life has a natural order and rhythm of unfolding.
The squirrel's eyes twinkle with delight.
Little sprout,
You are brilliant.
It's time to return to your branch and share your discoveries with the other sprouts.
Before you leave,
You promise the squirrel to help the tree shine,
Bloom,
And grow.
You promise to share your light through your breath and your heart.
Slowly,
Come back to your body.
Gently move your hands and feet.
Wiggle fingers and toes.
Come back to the body.
Believe that growth and possibility flow through you while you remain calm and relaxed.
As you return to the world,
Believe you are connected to so many others around the world.
In this way,
Let's reunite and bring the light we know to be true and possible.
Open your eyes.
Namaste.
