Sleep meditation.

Let us welcome the idea of sleep into our space.

Close your eyes.

From a seated position,

Press both feet into the ground.

Lengthen your spine.

Drop your shoulders.

Relax your neck.

Rest your hands on your lap.

Calm your palms face up.

Invite the body to sleep.

Come into your breath.

Inhale,

I am.

Exhale,

Relaxed.

Inhale,

I am.

Exhale,

Relaxed.

Inhale,

I am.

Exhale,

Relaxed.

Welcome sleep into your breath.

Come into your mind.

Open the door to your mind.

See the word sleep inside this space.

Allow the word sleep to expand with your inhale and exhale.

Come sleep into your mind.

Stay in your body.

Stay in your breath.

Stay in your mind.

Today you get into your kayak and boat your way to a hidden gem called the Cathedral Cove on the coastline of New Zealand.

From the gold sandy beach lined with shady ahurakaua trees,

You slowly paddle your way to the cave with its naturally formed archway and pristine water.

The water is calm and steady.

Once you arrive at the cave's mouth,

You put on your snorkel gear and swim to the cave's deepest part in hopes of catching a glimpse of a seal or penguin.

As you dive deeper into the water,

Your eyes take in the orange sponge gardens,

Deep blue reef systems,

And marine life in dazzling rainbow colors.

You are so relaxed and peaceful,

Swimming in the warm and clear water and marveling at the colors.

Several hours quickly pass by in this serene place.

It is easy for you to lose track of time and space.

You step out of the water and sit on a volcanic rock to take a break.

The landscape is equally breathtaking with towering rocks and openings that reveal the sunlight and clear blue sky.

Underneath your body,

You rest on a warm and cozy blanket.

Close your eyes and dream.

As you sink into your dream state,

The most enchanting music floats out of the water and surrounds you.

Each peaceful note carries a specific color and sound frequency that soothes you and brings you closer to a state of calm.

Gradually,

Your heartbeat slows down to match the rhythm of the peaceful song.

Any moments of anxiety and tension quickly dissolve in your brain as it switches off any need to feel stress and tension.

Even your nervous system finds a way to step out of overload and into balance.

Your breath finds a natural and effortless pace.

As you rest more deeply,

A luminous figure appears before you.

She has long,

Dark,

Flowing hair and is dressed in a white,

Shimmery gown.

She looks at you with loving eyes and reaches out for your hand.

You reach for her hand and you too glide along the water to visit a giant silver clamshell.

The shell is the source of this incredible music.

There is a seat cushion in the center of the open shell.

Once you and the guide settle into the clamshell,

You ask her,

Who are you?

Where do you come from?

Why are you here?

In a voice imitating the sound of the music,

This radiant spirit speaks to you.

I am your imagination.

When you tuck yourself into bed each night,

Call upon me to help you sleep.

Once you do so,

We work together to create a place allowing you to let go of the past and focus on the present.

Together let us create ideas and bring them to life.

Together let us forge a path to repair,

Restore,

And regenerate the body.

Together let us reset the internal clock.

Together let us create experiences that build connection to peace,

Love,

And joy.

Your whole being resonates with this message,

The music,

And the invitation to work together.

Peace is no longer a puzzle,

A chore,

Or a fleeting wish.

It is a real engagement to stay present,

Create ideas,

Refresh the body,

Return to flow,

And merge with the truth of who you are.

Your guide offers these reminders.

Choose sleep over anxiety.

Choose sleep over stress.

Choose sleep over tension.

Believe it is easy and natural to sleep.

Believe it is easy and natural to care for yourself through sleep.

Sleep is good for your body.

With a smile in her eyes,

Your guide picks up an object and places it into your hands.

You look down and see a pearl.

You bend your ear closer to the pearl and you can hear the music,

The music that's coming out of the clamshell.

You take the pearl and place it on your heart,

Allowing the music to merge into your body.

You feel lighter,

Brighter,

And relaxed.

Your guide stands up and asks you to step out of the shell,

Hand in hand.

You two return to your blanket on the rock.

Your eyes begin to flutter as you wake up from this dream.

Beside your head,

You see a shiny object.

It is the pearl from the dream.

You place it on your heart and hear the music once again.

You pack up the pearl and blanket,

Return to the kayak,

And paddle your way back to shore.

Today has been a wonderful day,

A magical day,

A restful day.

You feel so grateful for this gift of sleep.

You sense how sleep creates peace in your body,

Love in your heart,

And joy in your mind.

You commit to creating sleep for yourself in times of change and uncertainty.

Slowly,

Come back into your body by gently moving feet and toes,

Hands and fingers.

Circle your neck in one direction and circle your neck in the other direction.

Come back into the body.

May you leave and trust that sleep flows through you while you remain calm and relaxed.

Open your eyes.
