Hello and welcome to this guided meditation.

I'm Richard Willis and my voice will guide you to a peaceful forest log cabin where you can deeply relax,

Letting go of any thoughts from the day,

Soothed by sound of gentle rain and the calming presence of nature.

You do not need to do anything active in this meditation.

Just simply allow my voice to go with you as your mind naturally drifts along on its peaceful journey.

To begin with,

Become aware of the body and settle into a comfortable position.

Notice the sensation of the surface beneath the body,

The pleasant weight of the body,

Like it's melting into the surface underneath.

Settling,

Resting,

Relaxing.

Notice the weight of the eyelids as they slowly close under gravity,

Gently resting together.

Relax.

Now place gentle attention on the top of the head,

Releasing all the tension there,

Then moving your attention down to relax the forehead and jaw.

Then relax the neck and shoulders,

Letting all the muscles soften.

Relax the back and stomach,

Allowing you to breathe freely and easily.

Allow your arms and hands to completely rest and let your legs and feet really relax.

Experience the entire body completely relaxed and with each breath becoming more and more relaxed.

With each breath in,

Breathing in more calm.

With each breath out,

Really letting go.

With each cycle of the breath becoming more relaxed,

More deeply relaxed.

And if at any point you notice the mind has wandered,

That's fine,

That's natural.

Just gently guide your attention back to my voice with kindness and patience.

Just gently bring the mind back to the present moment,

Continuing to immerse yourself in the journey.

Now let your awareness move to your mind's eye,

To the space within where the mind is free to imagine and create,

To go to another place,

Transport your mind now through space to arrive in a peaceful forest,

Surrounded by deep green pine trees,

Tall majestic guardians.

Gently swaying in the breeze,

You're wrapped up warm and the air is fresh and crisp around you.

The sun is low in the sky,

Your shadows are long on the ground and there is a trickle of rain,

Pleasantly refreshing as it drifts down on the air.

Up ahead you see a log cabin,

Your private getaway,

Prepared just for you.

Walk up the gentle slope towards it,

Feeling the moss and twigs underfoot.

A soft spongy surface,

Almost like the forest is helping you to bounce up to your comfortable cabin.

Hear the birds softly singing and the whispering of the leaves high above.

As you arrive at the door of your cabin,

Reach out for the handle and open it.

Inside you can see that everything has been magically prepared just for you.

Just for you,

A warm crackling fire in the hearth.

Sat beside a long soft couch and table.

Take off your shoes or boots and walk over the springy wooden floor and slump into the couch.

Feel the softness underneath you,

Like a mattress,

Your body relaxing into it.

Melting into the comfort,

There are cozy looking blankets laid over the far arm of the couch.

Take your favorite looking one and wrap yourself up in it,

Providing the perfect level of comfort and warmth.

Feel its soft fluffy texture against your skin.

On the nearby table,

You notice your favorite comfort drink has been prepared for you.

Along with some homely food.

Reach out and help yourself to these.

Enjoy every mouthful.

The wonderful taste,

The temperature of the drink as it touches your lips.

Sit there,

Wrapped up snugly with all the simple life pleasures.

As you bliss out in the warmth,

Softness and taste,

You gaze into the heart of the fire.

Feeling its pleasant heat on your face,

Watching its colors shifting.

Licks of flame dancing upwards,

A primal display just for you.

In your forest retreat,

You look around to admire the cabin.

Well built,

Strong and protective.

The wooden floors,

Walls and furniture,

Decorated with many soft fabrics of different colors and textures.

Your attention gets then drawn outside.

The sun has now set,

And the pattering of the light rain continues.

Somehow helping you to feel even more cozy and content,

Even more relaxed.

The last of the birds is settling down for the night.

You can see the fire's reflection in the windows.

Raindrops running down the outside of the glass,

Creating mesmerizing,

Glistening reflections in the firelight.

You're so relaxed now.

You shift your body down the couch,

Able to stretch right out like a bed.

So soft beneath you.

So warm and cozy.

Resting,

Deeply relaxed.

You can continue to lazily explore the cabin with your eyes,

Or gaze out of a window,

Or simply relax into the sublimely comforting sensations of the couch.

And whenever you wish,

You can return from this journey to where your body is resting,

Or do this whenever you drift off.

Either way,

Looking forward to a deep,

Deep,

Healing night's sleep.

Enjoy the soothing warmth and comfort of your cabin.

The sights,

The sounds,

The comfort.

Drifting,

Calm,

Relaxed.

Out of peace.
