Transform Limiting Ideas

If you find yourself using language like "I can't" or "That won't work out," then you have a limiting belief which can be changed simply by changing the words you use about it. This lesson will help you bring those limiting beliefs to your awareness and mindfully change them to something more empowering.

Today,

We're going to talk about phrases like,

I can't,

Or it doesn't work that way.

Limiting phrases like that,

That we tend to latch on to and believe.

I want you to know that those things are just figments of the imagination created by fear.

So since we don't want to let fear limit us and hold us back,

It's important to notice first the times that we're using this,

I can't,

Or it's not gonna work,

Or some sort of a,

Nah,

Sort of a thing that just stops you from doing the thing you really feel you'd love to do if you had the chance.

So let's see,

Where do these stories arise?

When do they come from?

You know,

When do they come into being?

Where they come from is fear.

Absolutely fear.

So when you find yourself thinking,

Oh,

No,

I can't,

Or I'm not going to be able to finish that or manage that or whatever,

I want you to say,

Oh,

Wait a minute,

That's a story I'm telling myself of that comes from fear.

Change it up.

Try this phrase,

I'm willing to try believing that I can,

And then fill in the rest.

Okay,

I'm,

I'm willing to try,

I'm willing to be open to the opposite of I can't,

Okay.

The thing that you are saying that you can't do say that I'm willing to be open to trying this,

Just say a different phrase leading into that thing,

You're creating a new story.

Okay.

So today,

And before you know,

Before you end this lesson,

I would like you to think about if you can think of any stories that use that are negative and stopping and constricting your beliefs about your ability to do something or accomplish something.

Can you find any stories like that?

And if you can,

Rewrite the story.

If you can't,

Then be alert to that during the day,

Anytime where you might find yourself thinking or saying those things.

Stop and,

And try rewriting it and see how that feels inside you.

Okay,

That is your assignment.
