
Yoga Nidra Unlocking The Chakras
An illuminating journey into rest. In this guided Yoga Nidra practice awaken to the chakras, aligning your vision and energetic blueprint with the vibration of the universe. We will move through a body scan, pairs of opposites and visualization to stimulate the senses and connect within.

Welcome to this guided yoga nidra practice.
My name is Rachel and through this journey we will go within the body to awaken and connect,
Unleashing our highest expression of alignment with the physical and non-physical bodies.
During a yoga nidra practice you may find your body responding by feeling relaxed,
Heavy and soft.
And even if these sensations feel foreign or not possible for you today,
So that you can fully embrace these potential states of relaxation,
You may wish to lay down in a cozy and warm space,
Giving yourself as best a sense of feeling cocooned,
Supported and safe.
You may notice your body falling asleep and that's okay.
Welcome rest as best you can,
Inviting your busy thinking mind and tired bones to let go and settle back into the support beneath you,
Letting your body take up space,
Stretching out and feeling free of restriction.
Before we start,
Ask yourself to remain awake and fully present throughout the practice.
Everything may fall into slumber,
Though see if you can remain aware,
Conscious of my voice,
My words as I guide you through.
This is your journey,
Your experience and there is no right or wrong way to practice.
Make a promise with yourself to welcome what may come for you with curiosity,
Wonder and compassion.
This is for you.
The whole of you is welcome here.
The whole of you,
Just as you are.
Present yourself in your space,
Feeling your presence here.
You may wish to have something to cover your eyes,
Drawing your senses inwards as you begin to settle into the body.
Squeeze and release your hands and feet as a reminder of their presence.
Scrunch up the face and as you release,
See if you can soften and feel the skin almost melting into ease.
Allow the jaw to release,
Teeth to soften,
Tongue to get heavy.
Notice how you are responding to these cues to let go with no attachment to the outcome.
Can you give yourself permission to rest now?
We move onto the breath,
Just by following your next few inhales and exhales into and back out of your body.
Now deepen the inhale,
Feeling the rib cage expand and lift,
Belly round and soft.
Exhale completely,
Letting the breath go.
Release the breath out into the space around you.
Feel yourself empty out.
Breathe fully and exhale deeply a few more times,
Igniting a generous flow of energy through the body.
A little reminder to remain aware and awake through the practice.
Notice the stillness in between each breath,
Functioning more into every pause of silence.
We now begin the practice of Yoganidra.
I invite you to begin to imagine yourself in a place that brings you joy and happiness to your being.
This can be a real or imaginary place where you feel free,
Loved and supported.
See if you can bring this place or feeling state alive in your experience now.
Just notice what focusing on this place feels like within.
This is your inner sanctuary,
A place you can return to at all times.
From this sanctuary of yours,
Perhaps you wish to use a sankalpa to infuse into your practice today.
If you already have a sankalpa,
Then go ahead and repeat it compassionately to your heart,
Leaving it as an echo within and bathing in this infusion.
If you are new to sankalpa,
This is an opportunity for you to discover your heart's truest,
Most deepest desire for you in this life.
It may appear as a feeling state that you can translate into a positive I am statement.
Examples could be,
If you are wanting to be more open to receiving,
You could say,
I am open to receive.
If you are feeling alone,
You could say,
I am unconditionally supported by the universe.
And if you are tired,
You could say,
I am creative and adaptable to my situation.
Take some time and then repeat what fits most to you right now,
Three times silently to yourself.
We are already what we desire.
This is the truth.
Our sankalpa is the reminder we need to not forget who we are.
As we move into the body scan,
Follow my voice,
Placing your attention to each body part,
Allowing your senses to move with the pace of my voice.
We will start at your right hand thumb,
Sensing the skin on the right hand thumb,
The right hand thumb.
Follow on now,
Index finger,
Middle finger,
Ring finger,
Little finger,
All fingers and thumb,
Palm of the right hand,
Back of the hand,
Wrist,
Forearm,
Upper arm,
Right collarbone,
Upper right chest,
Right side waist,
Right side of the pelvis,
Hip joint,
Right thigh,
Lower leg,
Ankle,
Top of the right foot,
Sole of the foot,
Big toe,
Second toe,
Third toe,
Fourth toe,
Baby toe,
Whole right foot,
Whole right leg,
Right upper body,
Whole right arm,
Whole right hand,
Whole right side.
Sensing into the left hand thumb now,
Skin of the left hand thumb,
Left hand thumb.
Follow with me,
Index finger,

Feel into the whole body now,
Whole body from left to right and from right to left,
Whole body.
Now feel the whole spine from the bottom to the top,
Tailbone to the back of the head,
Whole spine.
Feel the back of the head now,
Top of the head,
Sides of the head,
Both ears,
Forehead,
Cheeks,
Jawbone.
Feel the eyes sink into their sockets,
Mouth softens,
Whole face and head merge with the whole body.
Sense the whole body as a vibration merging,
Vibing in wholeness.
Can you sense this wholeness as an expansion from the form to the formless?
What would it feel like to merge with the vibration of the space around you?
And how would it feel to connect with the vibration of Mother Earth?
What does it feel like to be in pure vibrational coherence with the universe?
Feel yourself pulsing in energetic wholeness now.
As I name out these opposites,
Follow your heart and allow yourself to follow in a way that feels good for you.
What does blockage or being blocked feel like in your experience?
And what does continuous flow feel like?
Continuous flow.
Feel back into pulsing energy now.
What does emptiness feel like to you?
How do you experience emptiness?
What if love was the opposite of emptiness?
How would that feel?
What would that be like?
Feel your emptiness as love now.
Move back into your pulsing energy.
What does survival feel like for you?
How are you surviving?
Breathe.
I've got you here.
What would feeling fully taken care of feel like?
How does being fully supported and provided for feel in your body?
Breathe here.
Merge this feeling state.
That you're in with your pulsing energy.
As we move into the wise,
Intuitive imagination,
Follow my voice and allow your inner wisdom to create from within.
A dark red earth.
A deep red rose.
Freshly squeezed orange juice.
The drip of honey.
Bursting yellow sun.
Golden glow of a buttercup flower.
Glistening emerald stone.
Green leaves of a swaying tree.
The bluest lagoon of water.
A bluebird singing in a tree.
A bluebird singing in a tree.
A bluebird singing in a tree.
A passion flower.
Purple thunderous sky.
A bright bed sheet blowing in the wind.
A bright shooting star.
Visual eyes laying on your back now.
Starry sky above you.
Hum of the universe around you.
Supported and curious.
Sense and feel into your perineum.
The deep down below the pubic bone.
And begin to feel the spinning of an earthy red light here.
Imagine the cells gathering into the spinning earthy red light.
Allow images to arise in your experience.
What does this bright earthy red conjure for you?
Now feel into the centre of your pelvis.
Just below the belly button.
Feel and sense a burning orange begin to swirl.
Feel a burning orange begin to swirl and spin in this area.
Gathering cells.
Strengthening.
Allowing a flow of images now to pass through your imagination.
Connected with this burst of orange.
As you leave this space,
Wander up to the solar plexus.
Right at the bottom centre of the ribs.
A golden yellow begins to activate and spin.
Gathering and pulling cells to its centre.
Connect with this colour yellow.
And notice visuals or sensations beginning to appear to the colour yellow.
Travel up into the heart centre.
Now green tones begin to move and spin from this centre.
Drawing cells and energy within.
Connect to the colour green and within it allow for the presence of the heart to send you visuals,
Sensations through the colour green.
Land in the throat now and activate the bluest of lights swirling in the whole throat.
Gathering cells,
Transforming them into blue light.
Sense what is here for you in this space as this lights up.
Notice and receive the colour blue and the activation of the throat.
Now drift into the space of the third eye centre.
Deepen here as a violet light appears.
Spinning and gaining rhythm at the third eye centre.
Feel a transformation of cells and connect with the vibrancy of purple.
Open up to the messages of this colour and the space it is filling.
Float to the top of the head now.
Pause in the unknown.
Feel the appearance of this bright white light beginning to activate and spin at the top of your head.
Expand into this white light.
Become this white light.
Infinite knowing fills this white spinning light.
Your body as a vessel aligning these areas of wisdom and development.
Rest now as each one of these colourful portals opens and projects a strong powerful ray up into the night sky.
Earthy red from the pubis beaming like a light wave into the sky.
Bursting orange from below the navel shining strongly.
Golden yellow like a torchlight into the night.
Heart so green overflowing into the dark night sky.
Throat exploding tones of blues out into the void.
Third eye projecting violets and purple beams.
Brown of the head sending streams of white light to the universe and back.
These vortexes of light and colour feeding up into the abundance of the universe.
Reaching to the skies.
These coloured light beams reach through the back body down into the ground beneath you.
Through the earth into the core of this planet.
Held between these two powerful beams of multi-coloured light.
Feel them connect and absorb the love and wisdom from the earth and skies.
Receiving.
Being fully enough.
Fully whole and complete.
Colour moving through you.
Your energetic vibration expanding limitlessly.
The night sky,
The backdrop of this light show.
Of love flowing effortlessly through you.
You are a being of light.
These portals begin to become full and expanded.
Bring back your sankalpa and with intention repeat your sankalpa as many times as you wish.
And as it comes to completion.
As we begin to close the practice of yoga mitra.
Landing your vibrational being back into the space within and around you.
Notice where you are in your consciousness.
Are you asleep?
Awake?
Dreaming?
Or aware?
Stimulate a deeper breath and feel it move and express through the body.
Let yourself drift in and out of where you were to awakening slowly.
Notice what you need before you move on with the rest of your day.
Honour your body and see if you can give it what it asks for.
You can end your practice by laying down or coming to sit comfortably.
Feeling that energetic awakening of colour through your entire centre body.
May it inspire your actions for the rest of the day.

Lovely practice, thank you! New and refreshing for me in this experience was how you used the image of all the colours emerging out of the chakras and more specifically at the point where earthly energies meet cosmic energies. In my imagination that immediately translated as the light of the Aurora (which is almost exactly that: earth’s electromagnetic field made visible by cosmic energy). That for me was a quite wonderful image to resonate with, to unite with the consciousness of that Auroric dance of colourful light, the fluidity and raw energetic motion that lay therein. A first for me, yet what a gloriously powerful image to associate with the flowing of chakral energy dancing amid that which is above and that which is below. But that’s just my crazy associative imagination doing what is does, nevertheless I thought it worth sharing since you were after all who inspired all this and might perhaps be as delighted by it as I was and am still… Namaste🙏
