Wild Flora Music - Ivy

Slip inside the world of Ivy. This is Common Ivy, Helix hedera, an evergreen that clambers over walls and trees creating wonderful living spaces for all manner of life. It is a favourite for the European Hornet that loves to nest in its protection. It flowers quite late in the season and the berries are an essential source of food over the winter for birds. The leaves contain saponins and make an effective detergent and it has many therapeutic uses.

Wild Flora Music is a project to bring the sounds of plants into your world. Each track is created by the plant using a plant music device. All the plants are recorded in their natural habitats and communities. Not all of the plants are musical to the human ear but they are all good conversationalists. I hope you enjoy this conversation.
