Welcome to this morning breath activation.
This is a short practice that will help you to energize and awaken your body and mind for the day ahead.
We'll be using the power of the breath to welcome in clarity,
Vitality and focus.
So to begin,
Allow yourself to find a seated position with your spine straight,
Gently tugging the chin,
Elongating the spine,
Allowing the shoulders to fall away from the ears.
And if it's comfortable for you,
Close your eyes.
Begin by taking a nice deep breath in through your nose,
And then exhale fully through the mouth,
Letting go of any sleepiness or any heaviness.
And then take a few more breaths like this,
Deeply breathing in energy,
And then exhaling any tension.
Few deep nourishing breaths at your own pace,
In through the nose,
Breathing in energy,
Exhaling fully through the mouth,
Letting go of any tension.
And now shift your breathing to breathing in and out through the nose only,
Taking slightly quicker and deeper breaths,
Feeling the inhale fill your lungs completely,
And the exhale release fully.
And as you breathe in,
You might visualize a fresh,
Bright energy entering your body with each inward breath,
And with each exhale,
Imagining releasing anything that might be weighing you down.
And now we'll deepen the breaths,
Let's inhale for a count of three,
And then exhale for a count of four.
And now we'll deepen the breaths,
Let's inhale for a count of four,
Hold at the top for two,
And then exhale for a slow count of six.
Again,
Breathing in for four,
Holding at the top for two,
And exhaling slowly for a count of six.
In for four,
Hold for two,
Exhale for six.
And repeat this a few more times,
Feeling the breath awaken your body with each inhale,
Imagining your body becoming more vibrant,
More alive,
And more ready for the day.
And now,
Take three strong inhales and exhales,
Breathing powerfully now to ignite your energy,
In,
Out,
In,
Out,
In,
Out.
And as you return to a natural rhythm of breathing,
Notice the awakening in your body,
Your body alive,
Your mind clear and focused,
Allowing yourself to feel these subtle or not-so-subtle changes in body and mind.
And when you feel ready,
Only when you feel ready,
Gently open your eyes,
Perhaps take a moment to set your intention for the day ahead,
And allow yourself to carry this sense of vitality with you throughout your day.
Thank you for joining me for this short practice.
