Here's a short mindfulness practice designed to help us let go of thinking and come back to the body,
To the present moment.
We'll be paying attention to different sensations.
So first,
Finding a comfortable sitting,
Standing or lying position.
Closing your eyes or leaving your eyes open with a soft gaze.
And taking a nice,
Long,
Deep breath.
And now,
Opening up your awareness to include the whole body.
And feeling into any sensations of contact,
Weight,
Pressure,
Hardness or softness.
And now,
Feeling into sensations of warmth or coolness.
And now,
Feeling into sensations of moisture or dryness.
And now,
Feeling into sensations of movement.
Now,
Opening up the awareness to include sensations anywhere throughout the body.
And if you wish,
You can continue.
Perhaps feeling the different qualities of sensations in your body at other times during the day.
