This guided practice creates a peaceful clearing in which we can rest and re-set. We establish a stable posture, let go of our day so far, and release the next part of our day. We rest in an energy of peace and stability - true freedom. Cultivating this sense of 'nowhere to go and nothing to do' we give our whole being the chance to receive the nourishment of peace.

This short meditation gives us a little breathing space to cultivate equanimity and calm so that we can kind of let go of the day so far and rest in a kind of a calm witnessing sensation.

So allowing yourself to have an easeful position.

If you're sitting,

Please create kind of an intentionally composed,

Solid position with your body so that it makes it a very safe place to bring your mind home to.

So you might snuggle in with your seat a little bit,

Allowing your back to be upright,

Allowing your front to be soft.

Resting your arms,

Your hands,

Resting your legs,

Your feet.

And we'll allow ourselves to rest in the sensation of our breath.

We'll begin by taking three deep breaths and you can kind of let them out like a sigh if that's comfortable.

So take a deep kind of exaggerated breath,

Aiming it below your belly button.

Then you can let it sigh out.

We'll do two more of those.

And then returning to a natural rhythm of your breath,

Simply observe this motion of breath.

So whether you sense it in your nose,

Your throat,

Your upper chest,

Further down in your tummy,

We're simply going to witness the drawing in of breath,

Sense of opening and expansion until the moment where it becomes something else,

Becomes an exhalation,

A release.

And we'll follow that all the way out.

Without posing in our attention,

We follow our breath in and we follow our breath out.

You might find after a moment that your breath becomes a little deeper and a little slower.

This often happens very naturally when we give ourself space to rest.

And with every exhalation,

We can release the day up until now.

With every exhalation,

We simply let go.

Past experiences,

Any sensations.

You can imagine them as being carried away by a river.

If you're kind of placing them like leaves on the water's surface,

That they can just be carried away.

Or you can imagine them as soaking into the earth.

The earth has a tremendous capacity to receive anything we want to let go of.

We can allow anything that is not a sensation of peace to just fall away from us.

Beginning to sense a peace inside us as we sit.

This delicate,

Gentle sensation of untroubled ease.

Simply allowing our bodies to rest in that sensation.

It may feel like a field of energy that just grows bigger and bigger and can encompass us completely.

Folded in peace.

We can release the future as well to increase our peace.

Just deliberately unclipping or releasing any sense of the next thing that's coming.

We can simply allow it to release and drift further away from us so that we stay rooted in this moment,

Enfolded by peace.

All of the other things in life that demand our attention,

That vie for our attention,

They can all simply move farther from us as we create this clearing in which our body can rest.

Sensing the grantedness of your posture,

How your body creates a safe space for you to be.

That even amongst so much motion,

Life around you,

Life inside you,

Different thoughts and feelings moving,

That even amidst all that motion there can be a sense of deep stillness.

We allow ourselves to reside in that sense of stillness so that our hearts can rest,

Our minds can rest.

Thank you.

And any time your mind wanders,

Draw back very gently.

Re-establishing your whole presence within this space of peace.

Nowhere to go,

Nothing to do,

Simply being.

We'll end with two sounds of the crystal bolts.

May the sense of peace be available to you as you move through your day.

Thank you.
