We begin this meditation tuning into the quality of fullness.
If one of the aspects of the feminine principle is emptiness,
One of the aspects of the masculine principle is fullness.
And they need each other.
They need each other.
The yin needs the yang,
And the yang relies on the yin.
It's just that in this meditation we're emphasizing the quality of fullness and receiving the light or being filled with the light.
And this is not a practice where there's a right way.
There's no right amount of fullness to have.
There's no quantity of light that's the necessary quotient.
It's a practice of seeing what's here,
What am I available to,
And what will I invite in.
What am I ready to invite in?
So it's not one of pushing.
That's not the healthy masculine.
So we're going to start with the body.
What's present in the body just as a baseline?
What are the sensations that are naturally flowing that I can easily access?
Because the flow is a form of light.
It's a data stream.
So I'm aware of that,
And I'm aware of where in the body at this moment feels blocked or numb.
Where can I not feel light or the life force flowing?
In other words,
There's absence.
And those places are okay too.
We're just bringing our kind of witnessing to both.
Easy flow,
Fullness of light,
Difficulty feeling the flow,
Relative darkness.
And we just notice.
And we're just touching.
Pema Chodron sometimes talks about this light feather awareness,
Just touching the breath or just touching sensation.
And then we take that feather breath as you're ready.
Take that feather awareness to the emotions,
To the heart space.
And again,
Where is there a sense of easy flow of emotion?
Could be joy,
Pleasure.
Could be easy access to sadness and tenderness.
Different colors of light.
And enjoying,
Letting ourselves enjoy those places of openness.
And then noticing if there's some places in the emotional body that are again numb or hard to see.
It's like when we're flying and we'll have more opportunity to fly now.
So we're flying and we're landing in a city at night,
Right?
Some of those places in that city are lit up.
They're easy to see.
Electricity is flowing.
And then there's places in that city that are dark.
Hard to see what's happening there.
No judgment or blame.
Just what is right now.
We've taken this brief survey now of the land.
And I invite you to move to the awareness of the mental realm.
Cognitive,
Imaginal.
Memories live here in a way as well.
Not just here,
But often here.
So what's easy to sense and see in this realm?
What's illuminated?
Could be a thought that you're delighted to see and could be a thought pattern that you're sick of,
But at least you see it.
You know it for what it is.
Noticing what's lit.
And then there's places you can't see.
Some people call that the unconscious.
Because we can't see them,
Well,
We don't exactly know what's in there.
But we can rest awareness and acknowledge that there are some places that I don't yet see that I need a mirror to illuminate.
And I can bow to the wisdom of not yet being able to see it.
And then holding both.
And then finally,
As you're ready,
Expanding the sense of awareness to the realm,
An open floor we call soul.
You can call it anything you want.
Just noticing where you locate that quality of presence,
That part of you that witnesses.
The part of you that perhaps is eternal.
And resting in the natural light of that presence.
And even as you might invite that presence to grow and strength and light and fullness.
And if ever fully you can feel it in this moment,
It's enough.
