Today I want to share a beautiful story with you.
That illustrates a very important aspect of meditation.
The story goes like this.
A king once visited the hermitage of a great spiritual master.
The king introduced himself.
To the disciple with a long description.
Stating his titles,
Achievements,
And the length and breadth of His kingdom.
The disciples shared this long description.
With the master.
But the master showed no interest in meeting the king.
The disciple went back to the king.
And asked him to wait for some time.
After some time,
The disciple again went to the master and reminded him about the king.
But this time the master in a very harsh tone.
Told the disciple that he was not interested in meeting the king.
And to let him go.
The disciple went back to the king and was standing quietly in front of him.
Not wanting to tell him.
The Master's words.
As it would offend the king.
The king inferred that there was something wrong.
And realized his mistake.
This time,
The king told the disciple,
Just his name.
And request it to meet the Master.
After hearing this,
The master immediately arranged for the meeting.
The essence of this story is that in today's world.
We carry the baggage of our designations.
Titles.
And achievements.
Abbreviated.
But for the purpose of experiencing inner calm.
Focus and clarity.
It is very important to let go of worldly designations and titles from our mind.
As they can be obstacles.
Especially when you go for meditation.
Try to let go of all these baggages.
I hope this story and discussion have been helpful and insightful.
