The disciple,
In the midst of planning her wedding banquet,
Proudly announced her unconventional intention to seat the poor guest at the head of the table and the rich guest near the door,
All in the name of showing love for the less fortunate.
Expecting Master's approval,
She looked into his eyes.
Pausing for a moment of reflection,
The Master responded,
That would be most unfortunate,
My dear.
Such an arrangement would diminish the joy of wedding celebration.
Your family would feel embarrassed,
The rich guests would be offended,
And the poor guests,
Despite being seated at the head of the table,
Would feel too self-conscious to fully enjoy the meal,
Leaving them hungry and unsatisfied.
