Hello,
It's Nisha here from Joyful Living.
I hope you're well.
Today's Yoga Nidra is going to be about bringing unity in a divided world.
I feel that the world is changing and not for the better,
So I thought I'll create a Yoga Nidra so we can work together and see the other side and know that we're all connected and that we're all one.
So get really comfortable,
Find a comfortable position in Shavasana.
Lying in your bed or on a yoga mat.
Whatever's comfortable for you.
Arm slightly away from the body.
Palms up.
Legs relax.
Gently close your eyes down.
And allow the breath to settle.
This practice is a gentle invitation to rest,
To gather,
And to remember.
The deeper thread of unity.
That runs through all life.
There is nothing you must do right now except arrive,
Breathe and be present.
Bring your awareness to the natural rhythm of your breathing.
No need to change it.
Simply notice.
The rise and fall of the belly.
The gentle expansion and softening.
With each inhalation,
Receive.
With each exhalation.
Let go.
Allow the weight of your body.
To be held by the earth.
Feeling supported.
And feeling safe.
Now gently bring to mind a sankalpa.
A short positive intention for this practice.
It might be something,
I am connected,
Or I remember unity.
Make it simple.
Present tense.
And meaningful to you.
Silently repeat your sankalpa.
Three times with full feeling.
And awareness.
Now bring your attention to the right hand thumb.
Relax your first finger,
Your middle finger.
Ring finger.
Little finger.
Palm of the right hand.
Back of the right hand.
Forearm.
Au revoir.
Papa on.
Right shoulder.
Armpit.
Right here.
Right thigh.
Right knee.
Right,
Cough.
Right ankle.
Right here.
The right sew.
The right toes.
Relax.
Now the left side.
Left hand thumb.
Index finger.
Middle finger.
Ring finger Little finger.
Palm of the hand.
Back of the hand.
The left wrist.
The forearm.
Elbow Upper arm.
The left shoulder.
Armpit.
Left hip.
Left thigh.
Left knee the left car.
Left ankle.
The heel.
Left sole.
Left heart.
Bring awareness.
To the back of the body.
Right shoulder blade.
Left shoulder blade.
Lower back.
The sacrum.
Now the front of the body.
Right collarbone.
Left collarbone.
The chest.
Heart space.
Solar plexus.
The abdomen.
Bring attention to the neck.
The throat.
The jaw.
The nose.
Eyes.
Forehead.
The crown.
Now,
Bring your attention.
It's your breath Feel the entire breath.
As it moves through the body.
A wave of sensation.
Moving in and out.
Imagine the breath.
As a gentle tide.
That softens the edges.
Between inside and outside.
Self and others.
With each breath,
Sense the borders of the body becoming more permeable.
Like light passing through glass.
There is a space between you and another.
And in that space is connection.
Imagine you are lying under a vast night sky.
Above you,
Stars are bright and numerous.
Each star is a life,
A voice.
Of faith.
Picture threads of light extending from your heart.
Then saw the threads reaching out across the darkness,
Touching other stars.
Now whiten this image.
See thousands,
Millions of threads connecting every star to each other.
The web hums with quiet warmth.
Every thread carries a tiny pulse.
The breath.
The pulse of breath,
Of kindness.
Of living.
Sense that the web holds you.
You hold the web.
As you rest in this web.
Bring to mind someone.
You perceive as different from you.
May be distant in belief.
Culture or opinion.
See them as a star in the sky.
Follow a thread from your heart to theirs.
Feel the connection.
You do not need to agree.
You only need to recognise a shared presence.
Now imagine this web gently pulsing.
Each pulse a ripple of compassion weaving through it.
With each pulse,
Allow a sense of unity to quietly deepen.
I am connected.
We are connected.
As you remain in the web.
Notice any feelings that arise.
Resistance,
Fear,
Grief or anger.
About the ways the world seems divided.
Don't push them away.
Offer them the same thread of light.
Breathe into the feeling.
Name it softly.
This is anger.
Or this is grief.
Then imagine it sinking into the web.
Transformed by the shared warmth.
See boundaries that once felt fixed begin to soften.
Like wax near a flame.
Not erasing difference,
But making room for understanding.
Allow your heart to hold both truth and openness.
Bring your awareness now to the heart space.
The centre.
Of your chest.
With each inhalation.
Imagine the heart expanding.
Like a gentle bellows.
Sending light along those threads.
With each exhalation and inhalation.
Receive the light that returns.
May I be well.
May others be well.
May we be at peace.
Return to your sankalpa.
Sonically repeat your intention.
Three times with feeling.
Allow it to settle into the deeper layers of your being.
Gently.
Come back to your physical body.
The surroundings around you.
You can either gently.
.
.
Awaken the body.
Or drift off into sleep.
