Sit up,
Let the crown of your head lift.
As if a thread.
Runs from the top of your head.
To the ceiling.
You can close your eyes if that is convenient or keep them open with a low,
Soft touch.
Cave.
Either way.
Stay awake.
This isn't a meditation to sink into.
It's one to rise out of.
So we begin.
Not by relaxing.
But by arriving.
Right here.
Fully switched on.
Breathe in through the nose,
Slow and full.
Fill the belly then the chest all the way to the collarbones and then let it go easily.
Again a long deep breath in drawing in more than you have.
And release One more and this time feel it.
Oxygen reaching the far corners of you.
Fingertips,
The soles of your feet,
Back of your mind.
The body doesn't wake by accident.
You're choosing it breath by breath.
Bring your attention into your hands.
Don't relax them,
Feel them.
The aliveness already is there.
Gently make a fist.
Then release.
These are hands that build,
Reach,
Hold on and do.
Travel up through the arms.
Strong.
Ready.
Into the chest.
And the core,
The engine of every action you'll ever take.
Feel it firm and awake.
Down into the legs,
The ground beneath you.
Press your feet.
Firmly onto the floor.
Feel how easily you feel sensations.
And how easily you could stand.
How easily you could move.
And how easily you can go.
This whole body is not here to be quieted.
It's here to be used.
Now the mind.
Let it land.
One thing you want.
Not 10 things.
The one that's been circling,
Half decided,
Waiting for you.
Don't analyze it.
Don't weigh the pros and cons.
Again,
You've done that.
Instead see it.
Let it become vivid.
What it looks like,
What it feels like in your body to already have it.
Notice the pull toward it.
That's not anxiety,
That is direction.
Let yourself want it.
Plainly.
Without apology.
Here's a trap.
Thinking can pretend to be progress.
Contemplation can become the most comfortable place to hide.
You circle the thing,
You refine the plan,
You wait to feel ready.
And suddenly the waiting becomes your life.
So notice gently.
Have you been hiding in thought?
No judgment.
Just see it.
And now decide quietly and firmly.
The thinking is done for today.
Ask yourself one question.
What is the single next move?
Not the entire staircase,
The next one.
Let it be specific.
Small enough to start within the hour.
You already know what it is.
Take a sharp breath in through the nose.
And as you breathe out,
Feel the readiness settle into the body,
Not as tension,
But as charge.
Coiled,
Awake.
Aimed.
Whenever you're ready,
Let your eyes open,
Lift your gaze.
The body is awake.
The mind is clear.
The want is named.
And the next move is chosen.
You don't need to feel ready.
You need to begin.
