Find your way into a quiet place where you can sit and be comfortable.
Getting tall through your spine and closing your eyes.
Beginning to breathe patiently and fully,
Yet gently and quietly.
Breathing in and out through your nose.
Give yourself permission to do nothing right now.
Give yourself permission to embrace this moment of stillness in which there's nothing at all that needs to be done other than just staying present right here,
Watching the breath.
As you watch your breath with this easy,
Relaxed and spacious mind,
Place some amount of attention on what else the mind or the body is feeling.
Maybe there's some discomfort that shows up in just being present and doing nothing.
Notice if the mind or body would rather be running off into the future or to a to-do list or planning,
Reflecting.
Notice if the mind would rather be busy reviewing the past.
Each time that you notice or acknowledge this movement or distraction of the mind and give it some loving patience,
Some compassion,
You give yourself permission to rest back in the moment.
You help the mind to settle again,
To be at peace again,
To be still.
Without thinking about your breath,
Just be present to your breath.
Without thinking of your body,
Just being present to your body.
You can feel the body's presence in your body.
Just being present to your body.
Allow for your mind to just feel spacious and opened and at ease.
This bliss of simply being.
No longer needing to do,
Just being.
Distractions will arise,
But there's nothing to do.
Just notice,
Acknowledge,
Extend compassion and find yourself again in this spacious,
Present quality of attention.
Noticing the breath and the body.
Be still and breathe.
Nowhere to go,
There is nothing to do.
There is nothing more sacred or more worthy than this moment.
Be present.
Breathing out.
Breathing out.
And then noticing the feeling of your body resting into the earth beneath you.
Bring your attention back to your surroundings.
Hands can come together in front of the heart.
Thank yourself for making this time to check in,
To be present.
Namaste.
