Just start,
Please i know that something's playing on your mind and i know it's been playing on your mind for a while and i know that at times your mind wanders and you start thinking about yourself doing the thing and i know that that feels good and then i know that you come back to your day to day and perhaps life moves on and time moves on or perhaps you talk yourself out of doing the thing perhaps you're in a critic,
Start saying you can't do the thing our time on earth,
As part of this earthly experience at least,
Depending on your belief system,
Is brief so please just start let's sit together and settle and by settling i mean find somewhere comfortable what is it that's playing on your mind,
What is it that you'd like to start?
How would it make you feel if you started and things went really,
Really well?
Yes stay in that feeling for a moment,
It's nice what one step could you take today or tomorrow to start?
Let's do it let's take that step let's take that step then see how we feel and then maybe take another step because if the idea of starting and doing the thing and things going really well makes us feel good it's quite likely that taking one step at a time might also make us feel good so let's take that next step let's sit for a moment and kind of galvanise ourselves,
Let's gear ourselves up to take that next step so for the next minute or so,
Just sitting together breathing and on the in-breath acknowledging the difficulty,
The fear so maybe on the in-breath I'm scared and I think I'll fail and on the out-breath,
But I'm going to do it anyway,
I'm going to start on the in-breath acknowledging any negative feelings about starting and then on the out-breath committing to it and just saying I'm going to do it anyway,
I'm going to start,
I'm going to give it a go so let's sit together and do that together because we're both going to start,
We're both going to do our thing,
Either today or tomorrow,
We're going to take one step breathing in I'm scared and I think I'll fail breathing out,
I'm going to give it a go because I'm not here for long breathing in,
I'm really not sure about this breathing out,
I'm going to give it a go,
I'm going to start I'm using whatever words work for you okay so,
Now that we know what the thing is we want to start and we've acknowledged that there are some sticky feelings around that,
But we know that we're only here for a short time having this earthly experience so we've decided we're going to start let's gently come back to the space around us and let's just one more time affirm that we're going to give it a go and saying to yourself perhaps,
I'm ready to start now,
I'm ready to take one step forward I'm ready to give it a go and let's just see how it goes,
I've a funny feeling it might go quite well and even if it doesn't,
It's an experience so let's see what happens,
