Welcome to Day 7 of the Burnout and Exhaustion Challenge here on Insight Timer.
So many of us are always available,
Never switching off and never saying no.
This challenge is a chance to remind your body what stopping actually feels like.
Let's jump in to today's session.
Hello and welcome back to the 10-day burnout and exhaustion challenge I'm Nami Paddy and it is so,
So lovely to be here with you today.
One of the quieter effects of burnout,
Of running on empty is that it does narrow our access to pleasure and ease.
When the body and the nervous system have been struggling for a long time.
Holding things together,
Juggling balls,
Getting things done.
They can lose the ability to easily register warmth and ease,
The small good things in life that keep us going.
So today's practice is a gentle one and it's about finding our way back to those sensations.
Through the body.
So start by finding a comfortable position I don't mind what position you're in as long as you really are comfortable and somewhere you won't be disturbed for a few minutes.
Supported.
Held.
Arriving in this moment.
Noticing the breath.
You don't need to do anything,
The body knows how to breathe.
Where do you sense the ebb and flow,
The rise and fall?
Allowing.
Noticing.
Arriving.
In this moment.
Gently scanning the body.
And noticing anywhere that feels comfortable.
Notice anywhere that feels held,
Supported and at ease.
Moving closer to one area of your body that feels good in this moment.
Allowing your body to experience ease.
Comfort.
In this moment.
Moving the focus now.
Too.
Bringing to mind.
A small sensory pleasure.
Something you taste,
Hear,
Touch.
Feel.
Something you genuinely enjoy.
Keeping it simple so perhaps you love the first sip of a warm coffee in the morning.
Perhaps you love getting into bed into clean,
Crisp sheets.
Perhaps you enjoy the sensations of a warm bath.
Perhaps you enjoy.
Stroking a pet or holding hands with a loved one.
Imagine yourself feeling it.
Tasting it,
Touching it,
Hearing it.
What does it feel like?
What does it sound like?
What does it taste like?
What does it smell like?
Coming back if the mind wanders and allowing yourself.
To experience your own small sensory pleasure in this moment.
Noticing what happens to the body.
When you relive your sensory pleasure.
Perhaps there's a sense of ease letting go.
Perhaps the jaw softens,
The breath deepens.
Just noticing.
The body remembers.
What a wonderful thing.
That despite everything you've experienced Your body has not forgotten how to feel ease and how to feel good.
It's just been busy.
May you touch peace.
May you experience ease.
May you be open to Touching,
Tasting,
Feeling,
Hearing,
Things that bring you joy.
Things that bring you pleasure.
And may you know.
That experiencing ease and small pleasures is part of your journey back to yourself.
Very gently starting to come back to the space around you and feeling the weight of the body against the surface you're resting on.
Noticing what the body did today when it was given permission to move towards something good.
Even if it was just a small softening that really matters.
Tomorrow.
Will go somewhere deeper.
A guided journey to a place of complete rest.
Until then,
I'd love to know.
What small sensory pleasure have you been overlooking?
It would be lovely to see what you share and what came up for you.
With the community in the forum.
Take care and go gently and thank you so so much for practicing with me today.
