Let's sit together in compassion for ourselves and others. This loving kindness (metta) practice offers the time and space for you to extend love and well wishes to yourself. This love is then extended to people you know and all life everywhere.

Hold your own hand.

Place a hand on your belly or a hand on your heart and repeat either silently in your mind or out loud if that's comfortable.

Repeat after me.

May I be well.

May I touch peace.

May I live with ease.

May I know I am loved.

Now bring to mind a loved one.

See them in your mind's eye.

See them at their best,

Happy,

Alive,

Vibrant.

Think of them,

Direct your well wishes to them as you repeat after me.

Repeat after me.

May you be well.

May you live with ease.

May you experience peace.

And may you know you are loved.

Now bring to mind someone you know who is going through a hard time.

Bring them to life in your mind's eye.

Bring their situation to life.

And think of them as you repeat after me.

May you be well.

May you touch peace.

May you know you are loved.

Now bring to mind more people,

Whoever comes to mind.

People you know,

Acquaintances,

People you're aware of.

And think of them all.

Send out well wishes to all of them as you repeat after me.

May you all be well.

May you all touch peace.

And may you all know you are loved.

Now bring to mind an image of the earth,

Our precious,

Precious planet,

Our home.

And extend your well wishes to all life everywhere as you repeat after me.

May all things be well.
