Chakras are energy points in your body thought to be spinning disks of energy that should stay “open” and aligned, as they correspond to bundles of nerves, major organs, and areas of our energetic body that affect our emotional and physical well-being. The root chakra governs our senses of stability, safety, strength, and commitment and is responsible for self-preservation and feeling grounded. Long deep breaths matching the time of the inhale with the exhale help to clear each of our chakras.

Transcript

Soul strong meditations,

The root chakra.

Let's begin in a siddhi posture.

Bringing our awareness into the body.

Connecting with the earth.

Drawing up that earth energy.

Before proceeding,

Working with space,

Working with stillness.

Breathing in and breathing out.

Taking a few moments.

And then gently bringing your awareness to the bottom of the spine.

Imagining that the very base of the spine,

There's a centre of energy.

As you breathe in,

Imagining that centre of energy begins to spin.

And as you breathe out,

You let it expand and you begin to notice anything that comes up for you.

Breathing in,

Energy of the earth.

Feeling how powerful the earth connected.

Expanding the base of the spine,

Energy centre.

Letting it spin,

Letting it get bigger.

Now noticing if anything is coming up.

This centre provides a foundation energetically.

Representing safety,

Security,

Stability.

Let your body show you anything that needs healing.

Anything that has felt like struggle.

Emotions that often arise from opening this root centre can include fears,

Abandonments,

Insecurity,

Anxiety.

This centre also represents our stress system,

Our adrenals.

A fight or flight response.

Breathing into that energy centre,

Allowing it to expand.

Noticing what your body wants you to pay attention to.

Becoming curious.

Allowing the colour red to expand.

Maybe allowing it to expand so much that you feel like you're floating in red.

Breathing in the colour.

Finding the emotions,

The sensations and the information that's important.

And beginning to let it go on each exhale.

Breathing in empowerment,

Stability,

Earth energy,

Foundation,

Safety.

While you float in the red colour.

Breathing out fight or flight,

Stress.

Let your nervous system release.

Trust that you are fine.

Trust that you are safe.

Floating in the red.

Letting your root chakra spin.

As the music fades,

Taking as much time as you like to allow this centre to open.

Releasing anything that comes up.

Exhale,

Relaxing and letting go.
