A poetic meditation for the remembrance of beauty in ordinary life. So often, we forget how beautiful the world can be. In this meditation, we will take the time to connect with the beauty within and around us and allow this beauty to beckon us back home.

I walk and the wind makes everything sing.

The ash tree creaks like the attic of an old home.

The tall grass rustles and speaks like cicadas on a summer's eve.

The water in the pond filling with ducks and geese casts calm waves onto the mud-caked shore where my feet wish to sink.

Here I am taken now by a reverent euphoria,

Almost in disbelief that the world can be anything but this,

So ordinarily astounding.

Stop if only for an instant and you shall see it too,

The bruised and beautiful world making love to everything.

Dear one,

So often we forget how beautiful the world can be.

We get caught in the suffering of it all,

Our minds traversing the landscape of travesty.

Endless to-do lists circling in our skulls,

Overwhelming aches in our bones.

But this is not all there is,

There is beauty so simple around and within us,

Waiting to beckon us home.

To our hearts,

Our bodies,

This moment here,

All we must do is pause and let it in.

So close your eyes now,

Resting into your breath and your beloved body,

Letting the face,

The heart,

The belly all soften.

Feeling into the caverns of your heart,

Your devoted heartbeat,

All the life that moves through you just by having this one dear heart.

Feeling into your whole body now,

As home,

As haven,

As a sanctuary of safety.

Breathe and be here as you are.

Letting your whole being know,

I am here,

I am here,

I am here.

Feel into the waves of peace washing in and around the body as you sit and greet yourself with presence and love.

As you say to yourself,

I am here,

I am here.

For you see,

It is through pausing and resting into presence that we begin to see and feel the beauty that is both within and around us.

It is through stopping all the busyness that we rest into being.

Pausing here,

See if you can sip in some of this sacred nectar.

If you can settle deeper into the luminous valley of beauty that is your birthright.

Let yourself know that you are safe to break open,

To feel this bounty of beauty.

There is no need to cast away the darkness,

The shadow,

The storms of suffering.

Rather we are just making some space for the beauty,

The light,

The glimmers.

Letting it all be present.

Turning our hearts to this chasm of creation split open by the sacred.

Dive in love.

Dive in.

Let this beauty be the lighthouse you have longed for.

Take refuge in knowing that this is always here for you.

In the simplest of moments,

In the sunlight on your skin,

In the laughter of a loved one,

In the golden leaves gracefully falling from the trees.

Let it all in love.

Let it in.

Let that which seems ordinary be remembered as extraordinary.

For there is magic in the mundane,

Magnificence in each moment.

Take a deep,

Slow,

Nourishing breath into your heart.

And may you remember,

May you remember to sip in these simple moments of serenity.

To behold the beauty in yourself and in others.

To sit just a little while longer and notice what glistens here until you glimmer from every cell.

Bow here expressing gratitude for this time together.

For the courage it takes to show up and feel.

For the devotion it takes to hold the light of luminosity even in the darkness.

Rest here for as long as you desire.

And then when you feel ready,

Open your eyes and greet the world.

As you move through your days,

May you continue to feel the simple moments of beauty that beckon you home.

So much love to you,

Dear one.

Thank you for being.
