Welcome,

Dear one.

My name is Kayleigh and I am so grateful you are here for this guided sleep meditation.

In sleep,

We soften and surrender,

Letting the body and mind drift into a current of calm that carries us into an ocean of rest.

But for many of us,

Sleep does not come easy.

We stay awake,

Unable to rest our bodies and minds.

But remember that your body knows how to rest.

So trust in your body's wisdom and in your innate ability to sleep.

And remember,

There is nothing you need to do,

Nothing to force or fix.

Rather,

Let my words land into the channels of your heart as you soften into serene sleep.

So close down your eyes now and settle into the warmth and comfort of your bed.

Notice the back of your body,

All the places where your back body meets the bed.

Let yourself luxuriate in being held and supported as you breathe here into the stillness.

Feel the connection between your inhales and exhales.

Feel the gentle rise and fall of your belly and chest with every breath.

And if it feels nourishing,

I invite you to take a few deeper breaths to settle your mind and body.

Breathing in through the nose,

Filling the belly and chest and then slowly sighing out on an open mouth exhale,

Letting go of any tension in your body and mind.

Take a few more deep breaths like this.

Inhaling into your body and exhaling out on a sigh.

And now let the breath settle into its natural rhythm.

Allow the soft and gentle flow of your breath to be your lullaby,

Inviting you to drift deeper into a state of relaxation.

And let's take a moment of quiet gratitude for another day of life lived.

Regardless of what happened or how you felt today,

See if you can connect with your heart as you silently whisper to yourself,

Thank you.

Feel into the gift and blessing of being alive,

Of breathing this breath,

Of being in this body.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Thank you.

And as you rest here,

If any lingering thoughts,

Worries or lists of things to do are present,

Take a moment to tuck these parts and thoughts into bed,

Inviting them to rest too.

As you let go of the doing and invite in a sense of being,

Give yourself full permission to rest,

To surrender,

To soften into a space of serenity where sleep welcomes you home.

Now I invite you to bring your awareness deeper into your beloved body as I guide you through a gentle body scan.

As you bring attention to each part of your body,

Allow yourself to soften and relax even deeper,

Welcoming every ounce of your being into rest.

And at any point if thoughts rise just gently notice them and then return back to my voice,

To your body and your breath.

So to begin,

Let your attention drift to your eyes.

Invite the eyelids to be heavy,

Softening all around the eyes,

The brow,

The forehead,

The top of your head,

And back of your skull.

Moving your awareness now to your jaw.

Let the muscles of the jaw relax and unspool like soft thread.

Feel both your cheeks and cheekbones.

Breathing in peace and softness.

Allow the mouth and the tongue to let go and rest here for a moment in the stillness.

As you inhale ease and exhale out any lingering tension in the face,

In the head,

And even in the mind.

Just letting yourself know it is safe to descend into slumber.

And bring your awareness now to your throat,

To the back of your neck.

Breathing into the inner part of your throat space.

Saying goodnight to your dear voice,

To this sacred space of expression as you rest in the sweetness of silence now.

Moving to your shoulders.

Allowing the shoulders to soften from the inside.

All the muscles of the upper,

Middle,

And lower back melting deeper into the softness of your bed.

Letting go.

Giving yourself to the weight of gravity.

Now bringing your awareness to your chest and breathing into your heart.

Honouring your devoted heartbeat,

This landing place for love and devotion.

Letting your heart sip in the breath and moving down to your rib cage,

Belly,

And your entire torso relaxed,

Calm,

And at peace.

Now move your awareness to your right arm.

Feel your upper arm,

Elbow,

And wrist.

And becoming intimate with this inner landscape.

Now resting your awareness at your right hand.

Feeling every finger,

Your fingertips,

Your thumb.

Letting everything relax and let go.

Now moving your awareness to your left arm.

Feeling your upper left arm,

Your elbow,

Forearm,

And your wrist.

Feeling your left hand from the inside out,

Your palm,

Fingers,

And fingertips.

And again inviting in relaxation with every breath you take.

Take a moment now to feel your entire upper body relaxed and at ease and ready for sleep.

And now tuning in with your pelvic bowl.

Softening into the hips,

The buttocks.

Allowing all the muscles within the pelvic bowl to rest and relax.

And now moving down the right leg.

Breathing into your thigh,

Your knee,

Your calf,

And ankle.

Meeting each part with gentle acknowledgement and a kind heart.

And now bringing your awareness to the top of your foot,

The bottom,

Each toe and the spaces between the toes.

Feel your entire right leg heavy and held in the soft light of your own loving awareness.

And now moving down the left leg.

Breathing into the left thigh,

Knee,

Calf,

And ankle.

Again meeting every part of you with loving kindness.

And rest your awareness at your left foot.

Breathing into the top of the foot,

Each toe,

And the spaces between the toes.

Feel the whole left leg heavy and held.

Now bring your awareness to your entire body and let your breath bathe your body in the warm waters of serenity and peace.

Feeling yourself being cradled and carried into deep nourishing rest.

And let this space of serenity you have cultivated be your anchor.

Let it be the resting place you return to each night where healing can happen without force but through the very magic and medicine of surrender.

Rest here,

Dear one.

And remember,

You are loved.

You are held.

You are supported always.

Wishing you a beautiful night of serene sleep.

So much love to you.

Sweet dreams,

Dearest one.

You
