Hello friend,
I am so grateful you are here.
One of my practices lately has been to place my hands upon different parts of my body and breathe,
Feel,
And notice what is present.
This practice is quite simple and yet I find it to be incredibly healing and nourishing.
So in our time together,
Let this be a homecoming,
A space to foster deep connection between you and your body as you rest into your beloved self.
To begin,
Let's close down our eyes now,
Inhaling here into the moment and exhaling out on a sigh,
Feeling into the ground beneath you,
Into the weight of gravity and all the support that exists here for you as you take in some deep inhales and exhales through the nose.
With every breath arriving here with your body,
Mind and spirit,
Letting the breath be natural.
Then begin to gaze your inner eye towards your body,
Feeling into the life that moves through you,
The aliveness that exists within every cell,
Every organ,
Every muscle,
Every tissue and bone.
And remember that to be in the body is to enter into the present moment.
It is to be one with your breath,
One with your life.
It is the ultimate act of connection.
When we are seated within our body,
We seat ourselves in the heart,
We remember who we are,
We hold the paradox that we are both of this body and beyond this body,
Both human and divine.
So let yourself really enter into the present moment through your beloved body for these next few breaths.
So in this practice I'm going to invite you to place your hands on different parts of the body.
And if that's not available to you,
You can always just imagine your hands on each part,
Really envisioning that love and that connection.
So to begin,
I invite you to place your hands on your face,
Perhaps resting one hand and then the other on each of your cheeks.
Feel the connection between your hands holding you now and your face.
See if you can soften a little deeper into this connection,
Letting any tension unravel,
Inviting the jaw,
The cheeks,
The brow to soften.
Breathing love into your hands and allowing this love to touch and radiate through your entire face.
And then saying silently or out loud to this part of the body,
I see you and I love you.
And next bring your hands to your heart space,
Resting here,
Breathing slowly and deeply,
Feeling the warmth of your own touch.
And notice what you feel,
What your experience is,
Greeting yourself as you are,
Greeting this part of the body as it is,
Letting go of the need to change or fix anything.
And breathing into your heart and into your hand,
Welcoming whatever is present,
Whatever you notice.
And repeating those words from before,
But this time let it be a love letter to your heart.
So I see you and I love you.
And then moving your hands to your belly,
Feel the connection between your hands and the rise and fall of your belly as you breathe in and out.
This part of the body can sometimes be difficult for some of us to really soften into.
I know I had a lot of stories attached to how my belly should look and feel.
So if any of that is present for you,
You can just notice those parts and then come back to this loving connection between your hand and your belly.
Because the more that you foster this connection,
The more those stories have space to be let go of and released.
Perhaps in this moment even finding gratitude for all of the organs and life that exists within your belly,
All the ways that your belly supports you and helps you live a vibrant life.
And invite the belly to just be soft,
Open,
To expand with each breath.
And letting your belly know,
I see you and I love you.
And finally,
Rest your hands at your pelvic bowl or pelvic floor area,
Your root space.
This is the place of power where we can really ground into our bodies.
Feel that connection again between your hands and this area of the body.
Noticing any sensations or feelings that are present.
Continuing to come back to this connection,
To the warmth of your own love radiating throughout your root space.
Letting your loving touch ground you and connect you deeper and deeper with your root.
And then saying to this part of the body,
I see you and I love you.
Then rest your hands wherever feels most comfortable to you.
Coming into your whole body,
Expressing gratitude for all the life that moves through you,
Your perseverant heart,
Your devoted breath,
All of these miraculous parts working beneath the skin.
Thank you,
Thank you.
And as you rest into gratitude,
I want to offer you a poem from my heart to yours.
Is my body that of bondage,
Or is every cell a small sphere of divinity,
Every vein a stream infused with spirit,
Every wound a calling back home to the heart and her maker?
For when I tire of trying to transcend,
I have you to nestle into,
The shape of which is the perfect sleeve for my soul.
Tonight I whisper thank you.
Tonight I remember you are royal.
Another one,
How we meet our bodies is how we meet our life.
The more we are soft and kind with our bodies,
The more we radiate this sweetness into the world.
So in moments when you feel disconnected from your body or caught in a spiral of self-criticism and shame,
I invite you to pause,
Place your hands on a part of your body and whisper I see you and I love you.
So taking one more deep breath into your body,
Feeling that gratitude,
That love,
That aliveness that can only exist within your being.
Thank you for taking this time to practice with me.
When you feel ready,
You can open your eyes and move forward with your day.
So much love to you.
Thank you for being.
