Welcome,
Dear one,
I am so grateful you are here.
Eckhart Tolle says,
Surrender is the simple but profound wisdom of yielding to,
Rather than opposing,
The flow of life.
In this meditation,
We will soften into this sweet sea of surrender.
So closing down your eyes now,
Settle into the softness of your breath and your body.
Letting the breath be natural as you deepen into this moment.
Say hello to your body,
To all the life that flows beneath your skin.
Taking any movements that your body is desiring before coming into stillness.
Perhaps rolling your shoulders,
Neck or hips.
Opening the jaw.
Letting out a sigh.
Whatever feels most nourishing to you in this moment.
And then as you rest into stillness,
I'm going to offer you a few of my own words on surrender.
I know how to run,
I know how to resist.
I know how to battle every broken part until I am swallowed in a sea of suffering.
Told to be strong,
Told to fight,
Told to never give up.
Meanwhile there is another who lives inside the burrow of my body.
Who quivers beneath my tongue,
Wait,
Dear one.
Let us be married to the mystery.
Let us not strive for anything large or small.
Let us be so surrendered that the muse lays down upon your feet and reveals to you the source of it all.
Dear one,
In surrender we soften.
We do not grasp,
Resist or control.
We yield to the divine flow of life.
It is through surrender we meet serenity.
An inner peace that permeates the burrow of our bodies when we let go and trust.
So I invite you now to tune in again with your breath.
Meeting each inhale and exhale with your awareness.
And as you rest here,
See if there is a part of your life that you are battling or fighting against.
Asking yourself where am I opposing rather than yielding to the flow of life?
Where am I living in resistance?
What or who am I trying to control?
Whatever comes through,
Let it be there without getting caught in the story.
Just witnessing this part of you through the eyes of love.
Seeing whatever emotions,
Thoughts or sensations arise for the soft heart.
And then with every inhale gather this resistance,
Fear or tension.
And then on the exhale let it go.
Feeling the tension release from your heart,
Your bones,
Your entire body.
And then breathing in,
Gathering the fear,
The resistance,
The control and then letting it go.
Melting and softening on your exhale.
Practicing this for a few minutes as you inhale the tension and exhale letting it all go.
And then letting the breath go.
Notice how your body feels now.
Is there more space within you?
Does your breath feel deeper?
Your body lighter?
Even if you feel that nothing has changed,
This is okay too.
Dear one,
I invite you to remember that surrender is not something we do once.
It is a practice we devote ourselves to.
A choice we make again and again.
To unfurl our fists and open our palms so that we may receive the gifts of this life.
So that we may trust in everything,
Even what aches as a light that is beckoning us back home to our hearts,
To our bodies,
To the thread of love that is woven within us all.
So make this choice now if it feels right to surrender,
To trust,
To have faith that everything is beckoning you back home.
Pressing your hands upon your own heart and bowing in gratitude to all life.
And may you return back to this space of softness and surrender whenever you need to today.
Laying down what burdens you and opening up to accept what is.
So much love to you.
Thank you for being.
