Embodying The Bīja Mantra Śrīṁ Promoting Positive Growth
by Monika Loe
The bija mantra Śrīṁ is drawing to us all that is good, helpful and promoting positive growth and development. It is the mantra of faith, devotion, refuge and surrender. Śrīṁ relates to the heart in its feeling aspect. According to yogic tradition, besides our physical body, we have another subtle energy body made up of sound. Our higher Self or inner being, the Purusha of yogic thought, is connected to the physical body through this body of sound. Traditionally, Mantra Purusa is being practiced with the 50 letters of the Sanskrit alphabet. If you have not yet learned the 50 Sanskrit alphabet sounds, you can get a wonderful sense of connection and embodiment from simply using bīja mantras, such as Auṁ, Aiṁ, Hrīṁ or Śrīṁ, while focusing on the body regions. Enjoy the practice
