Forgiveness isn't a single act,

It's a softening.

In this one minute meditation,

You will open the clenched fist of the heart,

Not to excuse what's hurt,

But to free yourself from carrying it.

Let's begin.

Take a breath in,

And let the breath out slowly.

Bring to mind something or someone that tugs at your heart.

You don't have to solve it,

Just feel the weight of holding onto it.

And now imagine sitting that weight down,

Whispering quietly,

May I be free.

And now imagine sitting that weight down,

Whispering quietly,

May they be free.

And rest for a moment in that freedom.
