Lullaby of the Sea.
Tonight we're slipping into the Lullaby of the Sea.
A song of soft waves and breath.
A gentle invitation to let the world fade away.
A night tide of rest awaits.
Be sure you've done all you need to feel ready for bed.
Prepare for sleep as if preparing for a well-deserved holiday,
As you let the sea sing you to sleep.
I'm Michelle,
And as you listen,
Think of me as a dear friend who advocates for you.
I encourage you to approach yourself with kindness and deep gratitude,
As you celebrate making it to the end of another day.
My voice will carry us only to safe and comforting places,
So get cozy and find stillness as we begin this underwater voyage to sleep.
It's time to dream away.
Consider all that supports your sleepy journey.
Your breath,
Your intentions,
Your sleeping space,
The earth itself.
Let your awareness soften,
Embracing the sanctuary of your room and the quiet space within your mind.
Bring your attention to the sensations in your body as you begin to scan and release.
Notice the weight of your head resting on the pillow or the surface beneath you.
Feel the gentle support,
Allowing your head to be heavy,
As you begin to welcome a sense of sinking and surrendering.
Now bring your awareness down to your shoulders.
Notice any tension held here.
With a soft exhale,
Imagine that tension giving way,
Like warm,
Silky,
Moonlit seawater slipping through your fingers.
Sense the space between your shoulders and ears increasing as they soften and release.
Travel your awareness down your arms,
To your elbows,
Your forearms,
Your wrists,
And finally to your hands and fingers.
Notice a feeling of aliveness and energy that flows through them.
Your fingers become light and free,
As if floating in water.
Now let these waves of release travel to your chest and your upper back.
Notice the gentle rise and fall with each breath.
With each exhale,
Feel a sense of softening in your chest,
A letting go of any tightness or holding.
Allow your upper back to relax into the support beneath you.
Move your awareness down to your belly.
Notice the undulating rhythm of your breath here.
With each inhale,
Your abdomen may rise slightly,
And with each exhale,
It gently falls like an incoming tide.
Allow this natural rhythm to soothe and relax you.
With each exhale,
Your hips ease away,
Creating space as your tailbone and pelvis find softness.
Continue down your legs,
To your thighs,
Your knees,
Your calves,
Your ankles,
And finally to your feet and toes.
Sweet comforting waves of blue peace have arrived.
Now bring your awareness to your entire body as a whole,
Resting and supported.
Envision a gentle,
Shimmering aquamarine light swirling around you.
It acts as a liquid embrace,
A protective bubble.
It acts like a protective deep sea current.
Feel yourself becoming lighter,
Untethered to the concerns of life on land,
And released from cares about today or thoughts about tomorrow.
The feeling is uplifting and gentle,
Maternal and soothing.
The sense of lightness increases,
Lifting you ever so slightly away from your bed.
Feel yourself beginning to float,
As if adrift on the calmest sea,
Basking in starlight and the pearly white glow of a crescent moon.
These silky,
Reflective waters carry you gently outwards,
Away from all concerns into the vast expanse of the deep blue.
With each inhalation,
Draw in the healing ocean air to find yourself expanding and drifting.
Your breath is your guide.
As you exhale,
You find yourself gently moving away from the shore,
Supported by the lullaby of the sea.
Gentle waves roll into view with slender,
Lacy white crests and sparkling gradients of blue.
The rhythmic motion is a soothing balm.
Some are small ripples of turquoise,
Others swell with a deeper sapphire hue,
And still others shimmer with a faint,
Mystical silvery cobalt.
As you inhale,
The incoming waves soften and recede,
Showing the connection and power you have right now.
Release with an exhale and notice how the waves roll in with a more profound sense of peace,
Their energy growing stronger with your gentle letting go.
With every inhalation,
You draw in the restorative powers of the ocean and the waves soften.
And with every exhale or sigh,
Their tranquil beauty deepens,
Enveloping the watery oasis around you.
As you continue your gentle drift,
The sea carrying you further and further until the shore fades into a distant memory.
Deeper and deeper into the stillness of the moonlit ocean,
Now surrounded by the deepest shades of blue.
The sea is an awe-inspiring presence.
Feel the vastness around you,
An infinite blue expanse that surrenders to the moon.
Just as you surrender to the sense that you are okay,
You are safe,
And you are ready for sleep.
With each soft inhale,
The gentle surge of a wave pulses with a dreamy rhythm,
Like the slow beating of your heart.
The water takes on a delicate,
Ethereal dance.
As you exhale,
Inhale and feel that subtle,
Magical merging of the waves,
One after the next,
Becoming one.
And as you exhale,
The waves deepen in their tranquility,
Their flow becoming calmer and more inviting.
Feel their comforting radiance wash over you,
A wave of deep sea peace.
Weightless,
Bound only to feelings of softness and lightness,
Your tired eyes notice the soft,
Hazy glow of the underwater world.
This wide expanse stretches before you,
Opening your heart,
Enlightening your load.
In this seemingly endless ocean,
You hear its gentle lullaby,
Laughing waves and soft whispers,
Blending in perfect harmony.
The deep waters can absorb all the thoughts,
All the worries,
All the little problems that have lingered in your mind today.
See them now gently detaching from you,
Floating downwards like tiny bubbles into the vastness of the ocean.
They drift into the immensity of the deep blue,
Becoming part of its grand,
Swirling mystery.
Where they no longer hold any power over you,
They simply dissolve into the sea.
You continue to drift and sink deeper into the beautiful,
Sacred peace of this underwater realm,
A place where you may deeply rest uninterrupted.
Your breath softens and the waves continue with their gentle flow,
Tranquilizing any flickers of energy in your body.
Sinking deeper into the soft embrace of the water,
You surrender to the gentle pull of sleep.
Your sleep welcomes you now,
A soft and gentle landing at the bottom of the sea.
The lullaby of the sea softens into an easy,
Eternal hush.
Feel yourself letting go of my voice,
Giving in to the sweet invitation of sleep.
As you surrender to the deep blue,
It's time to dream away.
